The 12 Most Important Food Items To Stockpile
Personal Liberty Digest ^ | September 24, 2012 | Peggy Layton

Building a comprehensive food stockpile is a daunting task, to say the least. For that reason, I recommend you begin stocking your home grocery store with basic foods that will enable you to survive during a relatively short-term (two weeks to three months) emergency and then gradually expand your inventory to enable you to survive a long-term emergency (one year or longer) that includes a full array of food and non-food items necessary and tailored to your family’s needs and likes.

When considering what to store, keep in mind young children, babies, elderly family members and your pets. Keep special needs items on hand also such as baby food, formula and pet food. Don’t forget the toilet paper.

The following 12 categories of food items (stored somewhere in your home) could very well save your life and the lives of many others in an emergency situation.

Since my dog licks her but I don’t think she is too finicky about the taste of dog food.

You say you love your cats and then you say you won’t stockpile pet food and that you mighr eat them.

If that’s so, You really don’t love your cats.

(Unless all the preceding was said in a humorous vein. I prefer to believe that you’re just pulling our leg.)

I keep a few months of cat food on hand, because I buy in bulk, but after that, they are on their own.

If I need to eat them, I will. That is unlikely though, given how fast the tree rats reproduce around here.

Yeah but you probably let your dog lick your face, so what does that say.

Considering the neighborhood, yeah, there aren't that many that can catch/kill them.

Feral hogs are the same. It takes skillsets to take them and skillsets to use them.

My cat has proven that she could be useful in a SHTF situation. She brings me bunny rabbits that she somehow kills without breaking the skin. Pretty good for a cat with no front claws and wearing a leash! She’s also a great mouser, but we make her eat the mice outside, she’d rather we let her bring them inside to play with.

A couple of cases of Bombay Sapphire Gin, ten or twelve cases of Schweppes Tonic water, a couple bottles of Johnny Walker Blue Label, a case of Glenlivet or Glenfiddich.
There’s no acceptable reason that Armageddon should coarsen the soul or the palate.

Need to buy more Yorkie food. As far as my stores of food, I’m not going to say. I did like you and planned meals to last the length of time I had in mind, before I began storing. Hap hazard storing tends to leave large gaps.
