One bombshell effect of the last debate, which I haven't seen discussed yet, is that I think it will force many in the media to start covering stories they've been ignoring and be more concerned with the accuracy of reports (like polls) which they've aired in the past.
The debate put them on notice - Obama has been exposed for what he is - AND YOU ARE NEXT! If they don't scramble to CYA soon, then they'll either be exposed by Romney and/or Ryan in the upcoming debates, by the events which start to unfold, and/or by facts which become known. Their time is limited, to some degree, they have started to play catch-up, and I expect the CYA reporting to continue.
Some examples - Benghazi Gate, Polls, Romney's Tax Plan, Obama's record on Jobs and Deficits ... others?
They want to Blame ABO. Anybody But Obama.

I’ve always thought the way any Republican could win this election is to lump the media with Obama and run against both. Put them on the defensive. The Media has a low approval rating and it is well deserved. Romney should cash in on that hostility.
I think,...the media are in far more trouble than they think.
I think that has been Mitt’s strategy from the beginning. He watched McCain’s 2008 fiasco, and learned.
McCain really was dumb enough to think that the “cordial relationships” he had built up with the media over the years would to protect him in the final days of the campaign. Fat chance, that.
Mitt has no illusions. He knows the MSM is the enemy and is not playing their game. In fact, he is actively targeting them.
It’s working.
According to Democrat Pat Caddell, the media have become the enemy of the American People.
Their god baallah must be inept and letting them down no wonder they have to resort to attacks and hate..
They blamed another loser like John Kerry, but they are getting closer.
The internet with its long reach and longer memory being made available to so many more people in the past few years has erased their edge. And THAT is a very good thing.
Web cams, phone cams, camcorders have made it nearly impossible for them to get away with much of anything. I LOVE that the technology they used to use to lie to us is now an infinite double-edged sword that swings both ways.
Most of the MSM employees are the skid marks on Journalism's shorts. Until Journalism changes his underwear nothing will change.
They are certainly the enemy of constitutional government because they have been totally co-opted by the Left, as has academia and civil service.
Conservatives are, at least, partially to blame for that because we didn’t want to be journalists, professors or bureaucrats, so we were not really paying attention when they moved in, took over, and then barred the door.
Prying open all three of those areas to Conservative influence is going to be hard, but it’s a battle that must be fought, and fought soon.
That’s a great point!
Very good point, and one which has often been made here, though not with the correct emphasis which you just laid on conservatives' doorsteps. You are exactly correct.
We decent, trusting, and hard working Americans, who play by the rules, and who pull the government's wagons, are to blame for allowing our country to be hijacked by the left. We did it to ourselves. It's up to us to pull ourselves out of this mess.
I think,...the media are in far more trouble than they think.
I heard a guy in town using Shakespeare in comparing them to the D**n Lawyers. As in, “Come the Revolution first we ...”
“Conservatives are, at least, partially to blame for that because we didnt want to be journalists, professors or bureaucrats, so we were not really paying attention when they moved in, took over, and then barred the door.”
You forgot one. Lawyers. Although this is improving. We are starting to get more conservative lawyers. We need even more to offset all of the Rat lawyers; they are legion. We must get more conservative judges in office. It’s imperative.
Good point.
“Conservatives are, at least, partially to blame for that because we didnt want to be journalists...”
Don’t knowabout that. SOMEONE has to do the work of enriching and advancing the society.
