How YOU will survive nature disaster and financial meltdown.

I personally witnessed what can happen within a very short period of time when food is no longer available to the public. I was in my early twenties, living in Paris, France. Because of an extended truckers’ strike, the food stores were cleared out within 24 hours of the announcement. Within five days, normally law-abiding citizens took to the streets and began threatening anyone who had food… Those with no food quickly crossed the line of sanity and started desperately looking to take food from those who had it by any means necessary. These events were never properly covered by the news media (what a surprise!), but I saw firsthand how uncivilized a so-called “modern country” can become within a matter of days because of a lack of food. If I had not witnessed this myself, I probably would not believe this could happen so easily.

Nuclear warfare is not necessary to cause a breakdown of our society. You take a large city like Los Angeles, New York, Chicago — their water supply comes from hundreds of miles away and any interruption of that, or food, or power for any period of time you’re going to have riots in the streets. Our society is so fragile, so dependent on the interworking of things to provide us with the goods and services that you don’t need nuclear warfare to fragment us anymore than the Romans needed it to cause their eventual downfall. — Gene Roddenberry

Someone the other day described what’s happening perfectly; they said it’s like being in a car wreck you are driving along you see a car coming at you he’s not stopping for the red light there’s no place for you to go you know for sure he is going to hit you and then everything slows down like a scene from some action movie the car coming seems to be crawling you can even see the surprise on the other drivers face. When he hits you the flying glass seems to hang in the air for a second and all the time there ain’t a damn thing you can do, but pray you survive.

Personally I we will see something much like the collapse of Argentina ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yerKMQc7-w&feature=grec_index )but on a global scale.

As far as the election either way it goes I believe we will soon see social unrest, the closer the election gets the more things will become like walking a mine field and a miss step and things can and will exploded.

Despite the CDC’s tongue and cheek presentation for National Preparedness Month, there really are Zombies, just not the kind from George A. Romero films. They have been fed from the Government’s stash and walked among us for years now and many have been caught on film, but it was in a movie it was for real:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2JtPLyYpyyA

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4F8ob9nlfY

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2Ykj92c9v8

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnpqBb_7PJ4

These and many more like events show (Flash Mobs, OWS, etc) that we have a large entitlement minded population that is violent prone. I think that during a collapse you will see many small businesses wiped out by flash mob looting, and once started it will quickly spread to rape, robbery and murder for murder sake. You will see what I call ‘pocket pogroms’ and if you ain’t ‘Amish’ you better not be around when they come.

I am very much in agreement of the author of this article about what we can look forward to:

When The Music Stops – How America’s Cities May Explode In Violence

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2926391/posts

Many of these ‘zombies’ will think no more about killing you to get ‘stuff’ than zombies in the lastest horror flick and do it just as gruesomely as any of the worse scenes in those same movies.

Many of you who have read my post know I often refer to this quote from Star Trek Deep Space Nine: “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: The Siege of AR-558 (#7.8)” (1998)

Quark: “Let me tell you something about Hew-mons, Nephew. They’re a wonderful, friendly people, as long as their bellies are full and their holosuites are working. But take away their creature comforts, deprive them of food, sleep, sonic showers, put their lives in jeopardy over an extended period of time and those same friendly, intelligent, wonderful people... will become as nasty and as violent as the most bloodthirsty Klingon. You don’t believe me? Look at those faces. Look in their eyes.”

It has repeated been shown throughout history that this is what happens to people once placed under such stressful conditions and yet you would be surprised how many people don’t realize the transformations that can take place under such conditions. And because of their ignorance many won’t even live long learn.

If you want to learn what happens I suggest you read some of Selco’s firsthand experiences in Bosnia:

A Survival Q & A: Living Through SHTF In The Middle Of A War Zone

Clearly there’s a storm coming, as great as a hurricane and like you do when a hurricane comes your way you either prepare to weather it or you become a victim of it.

For those who are just starting or are old hands at prepping you may find my Preparedness Manual helpfull. You can download it at:

http://tomeaker.com/kart/Preparedness1j.pdf

NOTE! THIS IS A FREE DOWNLOAD. I DO NOT MAKE ONE CENT OFF MY PREPAREDNESS MANUAL!

For those of you who haven’t started already it’s time to prepare almost past time maybe. You needed to be stocking up on food guns, ammo, basic household supplies like soap, papergoods, cleaning supplies, good sturdy clothes including extra socks, underwear and extra shoes and boots, a extra couple changes of oil and filters for your car, tools, things you buy everyday start buying two and put one up.
As the LDS say “When the emergency is upon us the time for preparedness has past.”

Or as the bible says: A prudent man sees danger and takes refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer for it.
NIV Proverbs 22:3

“There is no greater disaster than to underestimate danger.
Underestimation can be fatal.”

One of the great advantages of where I live in the Philippines
is that I do not depend on supermarkets.
I live in the vegetable capital of Cebu, where fruits and veggies are in great abundance, as well as fish, pork, and chicken.
It is very hard to imagine a shortage of food, and being in a warm climate, I do not worry about heat in winter.
I also enjoy a wide range of environments. If I need to leave my beach, I can be on the highest mountain (3100 ft), only 10 km inland.

The problem with the Philippines is that it is a prime target for Chinese occupation.

One famous historian and past period philosopher made a very famous quote, one that I think we should remember, especially after watching the Arab Spring on the international TV stations. He said; "a nation is only three meals away from chaos and instability." You see, when the people can no longer eat, and they have no food, they come out into the streets. At that point there will be hell to pay for the government, King, dictator, or even Republic which promised the people prosperity.

The more dangerous problem isn’t that governments collapse, but that they grow too strong for citizens to live freely inside them.

I’ve noticed that outside the city, we have a harder time getting the “just in time inventory” deliveries in normal times so rural areas will lose their deliveries before the cities will in bad times.

The Largest Economy In The World Is Imploding Right In Front Of Our Eyes

"If you believe that Barack Obama, Mitt Romney or Ben Bernanke can somehow magically shield us from the economic shockwave that is coming then you are being delusional."

Sarge, I think a Romney election will only stave off the inevitable for a few more years but it is going to happen. Our society as a whole is fragmenting, balkanizing, and there are segments of it that just don’t see it or don’t care. They are either the leeches who think entitlements are going to come in perpetuity or the blind who are more engaged in watching American Idle or organized sports.

It is going to get violent, very violent. More and more of the officers that I work with are getting their Bugout plan together because there will be a point when the emergency services will be overwhelmed and will walk off the job to save their own families. Citizens MUST recognize this and prepare for it’s eventuality.

I see a future where there will be no food in urban areas and charitable organizations will be overrun. Church food lines will have to have armed men just to keep order and food shipments will get hijacked just like in other 3rd World countries.

We are in for period that American has NEVER seen.

Oh dude, we are right there with you.

Your quote here:

More and more of the officers that I work with are getting their Bugout plan together because there will be a point when the emergency services will be overwhelmed and will walk off the job to save their own families.

We've heard this several times from LEO's we know. We've got plans to bug in, deliberate bug-out, hasty bug-out, and evacuate - and when we get them done or added to, we file them and hope we never have to take that folder out of the drawer.

All this, while we're planning a wedding. We need a chainsaw to cut the stress...

Some say if Romney is elected, the economic meltdown will be put off for a few years. I don’t believe that as I think the country is too far gone - the country is already bankrupt and no one can undo that. Add to that the failure of European countries affecting us, plus likely war in the middle east, and it’s a train wreck coming soon, likely next year or could be between now and the end of this year.

I think we don’t have much more time to prepare.
