Hoarded Ducks See Water For The First Time
http://zanylol.com/ducks.html ^

Posted on 10/07/2012 6:40:16 AM PDT by navysealdad

These ducks rescued in a hoarding case had never swam in the wet stuff before, so when they were led to their first pond, all didn't go quite as planned. In a flash, instinct overcame fear as first one duck then another realizes this is where they truly belonged. Within minutes, the exuberant ducks are taking the bath of their lives and gleefully loving every minute of it.

Dives right in and drinks repeatedly

This is the way ducks act when stupid humans try to force them to do something. Shortly thereafter the nice little pond is filthy and stinking with duck poop and mud they stir up.

You also think its hoarding to raise them in a pen for food? You oughta see the millions of ducks “hoarded” in Asia that never get in the water until its time to clean up for the roaster.

Idiots at the new place didn’t have to scare the new ducks half to death by shooing and throwing them into the pond. The ducks would have found the water on their own without being terrorized.

"Hoarded" ducks?

Looks to me like a bunch of OWS-types occupied somebody's farm and wanted to make pets out of Sunday dinner.

Reminds me of a great story about an Italian widow in the Middle Ages. Very proper, and got a good marriage for her daughter. When the groom didn’t ask for his bride after the wedding night she had him come to speak with her. He told her that he thought nothing of the talk about widows until his bride showed so much enthusiasm during their wedding night.

She took him to the barn and took up a newly hatched duckling then threw it in the water. It swam quite easily.

He took the lesson to heart and called for his wife.

Really wasn't trying to attack.... just pointing out the naivete in “cute”.
The ducks would not have lived a week having free access to the water as foxes, coyotes, bob cats and most everything else likes duck. The pen was saving their lives, the fun swim would not.
