Republican Presidential Candidate Mitt Romney visits the Virginia Military Institute on Monday to lay out his foreign policy vision, and contrast it with that of President Obama.
Coming off a widely reported success in last week's domestic policy-focused Presidential debate, Mitt Romney and his running mate Paul Ryan held rallies in Virginia on Thursday and Friday. The Presidential candidates have a week off before the next debate, which is a town hall format. The final debate, which focuses on foreign policy, will take place October 22.
Romney has previously struggled in the foreign policy arena, with an overseas trip this summer for which he received mixed reviews, and a hasty statement about the recent uprisings in the Middle East, which came shortly before the U.S. Ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens, and three other Americans were killed in an attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi.

The fable is being spread that the Romney-Ryan team is somehow “less informed” than the Obama-Biden team about foreign affairs.
I cannot imagine of anybody being less informed about foreign affairs, and still be in contact with those who make it their business to actively study the international scene and make their prescriptions and recommendations, than the Obama side to the current regime. He does not go to the security priefings prepared primarly for his consumption, on purpose. He DELIBERATELY remains ignorant, in spite of the efforts to bring some very important updates and data to his attention.
That is OK. Valerie Jarrett is sitting in at these briefings, and she is using this information to her personal benefit.
Mostly to pass along to Obama that he is NOT to follow the recommendations offered by the security team.
Love how the Obama campaign response is simply stated as fact. Nope...no media bias.
Only partisans against Romney claimed errors on his overseas trip. Only the left is ignoring Obama's massive coverup of the security situation in Libya and focusing on Romney's excellent response. Let's line up Romney's words on the 9/11/12 flareups with all previous presidents, and let's line up Obama's performance with previous presidents. Which one is not ready for prime time?
Is it me or does Romney talk too fast?
He is a very smart man and his mind (and mouth) go too fast for me to digest all of the important information he is relating to us. I’m average intelligence so I think maybe other people may be having the same problem.

Speed is not the issue. Clear pronunciation can be a problem.

He’s talking too fast..sounds too rehearsed and is turning back and forth too rapidly between teles. SNL is going to have a field day.
He needs more work with a debate coach. Slow down, have more pauses, look straight ahead into the camera.

it. “He’s uncertain”. “He’s on drugs”, etc etc.
In other words, everything that was on display from Obama in the first debate.

I don’t worry at all about his ‘lack of experience’ as the pro-Obama CSpan callers. The whole point of having a business executive is that he knows how to pick the smartest people.
The other thing people are complaining about on CSpan are the typical anti-power complaints: “We’re going to mired in war, we’re going to be spending what little money we have on the military industrial complex.”
Not so. It’s not a matter of projecting our soldiers into the world, it’s a matter of projecting power and leadership clearly and early. With resolve.
I think we’re in for a really good presidency, way more like Reagan than Bush.
My only concern is that he really has contradicted himself a lot during this campaign. I’m not sure if that’s by design, or just the natural adjusting to things along the way. (Of course only recently did Mitt start getting intel briefs ... which may have allowed him to cement strategy more firmly in reality)
Things are looking good. Was great to read about the Ohio early polling by district.
I think it has to do with the time constraints on the campaign and the debates. I saw him live a week or so ago and it seemed like he had too much information to share in a very limited amount of time and was talking fast to get all of what he wanted to say without going over the clock. I don’t see it so much as a bad thing but maybe he could relax a little more. then again, with so much material to cover...
Stay on the offense Mitt, let them rehash last weeks debate news all they want, just stay on the offense.

In less than three minutes after the speech was over CNN had Obama’s a$$ covered.
The Middle East problems are out of the WH hands.Another (no president could fix it).
Could be, but my initial impression, based upon the first debate and this speech, is that Reagan + GWB = Romney. I hope that initial impression holds up. Lord knows, Romney's public service record doesn't support any such deduction.
But --- as I was telling my wife last night, I'm willing to allow for the possibility that he's experienced some personal growth, and that this is the real man we're seeing. If that's truly the case, and he's not simply giving a really good sales pitch, then he'll gain my heartfelt support.
It's true. Obama's given him an unbelievably target-rich environment. He'd need several hours of uninterrupted talk time to get it all in.
The ideologically blinded MSM thinks they're giving Obama air cover when they attempt to shield him from deserved criticism, but all they're doing is cementing the public's perception that Obama is incapable of doing his job.
All of the finger-pointing and passing the buck to his predecessors, has boomeranged on him. He's convinced the country that he's incompetent, and now he will pay the price by losing the election.
