Lance Armstrong challenged the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency to name names and say what it had on him.
On Wednesday, it did.
The anti-doping body revealed a group of 11 former Armstrong teammates some loyal, some estranged who each provided evidence of drug use on the U.S. Postal Service team. USADA Chief Executive Travis Tygart called it the most sophisticated, professionalized and successful doping program that sport has ever seen.
USADA will deliver its reasoned decision against Armstrong later Wednesday, a summary of the facts it used to hand him a lifetime suspension and erase his titles. The organization has banned the seven-time Tour de France winner from competition for life and declared his victories null and void.
In a news release previewing the decision, Tygart said it would include more than 1,000 pages of evidence. He listed 11 of Armstrongs former teammates, including George Hincapie, Floyd Landis and Tyler Hamilton, as among those providing evidence that led to the sanction.
Tygart said the evidence shows the code of silence that dominated cycling has been shattered.
It took tremendous courage for the riders on the USPS Team and others to come forward and speak truthfully, he said. It is not easy to admit your mistakes and accept your punishment. But that is what these riders have done for the good of the sport.
Armstrongs attorney, Tim Herman, called the report a one-sided hatchet job a taxpayer funded tabloid piece rehashing old, disproved, unreliable allegations based largely on axe-grinders, serial perjurers, coerced testimony, sweetheart deals and threat-induced stories.

Maybe they did, and maybe they didn’t. Usually, people are considered innocent until “proven” guilty. Heresay “evidence” of something that happened a long time ago hardly constituts “proof”...in America...for now, anyway.
LOL. The French are mad because our dopers beat their dopers.
His real crime was WWNASM.
I’m not sure about Armstrong’s politics, but I think he’s probably a liberal. He’s good pals with known lib Matthew McConaughey. He’s had murals from Shepard Fairey(famous for the Obama posters) on the wall of his bike shop in Austin and has worked with him on other projects. He met with Barbara Boxer earlier in the year, and Livestrong donated $100,000 to Planned Parenthood the week the federal charges against him were dropped.
He also spent a lot of alone time with G.W. Bush on the bike.
“Innocent until proven guilty” is the standard in a court of law. I am using my common sense and reason. It doesn’t make sense that he did not dope. It’s highly unlikely that all these people lie while he alone tells the truth.
BS. You have no unimpeachable evidence. Only heresay from guys who were likely doping as well.
ok if that’s true my opinion just dropped a couple of notches.
I may be mistaken about McConaughey being a liberal. Couldn’t find anything conclusive about him with a quick google search.
Sounds like allot of sour grapes and hear say.
France has already told this ‘body’ to sod off the records stand.
It is what it is. God will sort it out.
Face it, Lance Armstrong doped. It is impossible for him to not have doped. He could not have possibly beaten all the other cyclists who were also doping without doping himself. 11 of his former teammates are not lying.
There are much more important things in life than weather Lance Armstrong doped in a field full of dopers.
I could care less about Lance doping. I care a whole bunch about a which hunt by a Quasi-Government, publicly financed corupticon, I made that word up (Corruption + Con Game), organization that should be defended along with PBS and Moe hair subsidies.
It is completely unimportant. This is exactly what Romney was talking about. Should we borrow money from our children's grandchildren to pay into this type of organization? I don't think so.
Make that de funded
How much less could you care and why don't you?
Lots and lots.
I’m with you, if they want to juice, let ‘em juice. I don’t care.
I watched every one of his 7 TdF victories and I have long held out hope that he was clean because he never peed dirty, but this is not good. It ain’t proof, but it looks/sounds really bad.
Stripping him of his Tour victories would be like stripping Dale Sr. of his NASCAR wins because one of his pit guys said they were cheating. Hell, they all cheat. Racin’ is cheatin’ at least until you get busted.
Armstrong is still a hero to me and will remain so, I don’t care. He didn’t cheat any worse than the rest of ‘em. Just smarter maybe.
GW Bush is not a conservative....no real conservative considers anything “bush” to be conservative
And, Armstrong dated for years Sheryl “One Piece” Crow....who supported US troops in Bosnia under Clinton, but not in the Middle East under Bush
Armstrong is a liberal...
And, he got cold-busted for being a doper. The suspicion was there long before he was winning T de F
He said he’s left of center once in an interview somewhere, but wasn’t a partisan and considered both Bush and Kerry friends.
