Abandoned puppy and kitten...think that they are SISTERS [w/pix, video]
Daily Mail [UK] ^ | 10 October 2012

An orphaned puppy and abandoned kitten who were put together at a rescue centre have become so close - they think they are sisters.

Kitty the cat was brought into Battersea Cats and Dogs Home by a kind-hearted member of the public who found her alone in a garden when she was just one day old.

To keep her company she was put together with Buttons the Jack Russell, who was born at the centre but rejected by her mother as the runt of the litter.

She said: 'Normally we’d hand rear puppies and kittens separately but we thought we could try putting them together as they are both so young.

'Luckily it’s paid off as they adore being with each other and do everything together - it’s really very sweet.'

-snip-

Kitty and Buttons were put together when they were about two weeks old and treat each other like siblings.

When I see a pic like that, I think for maybe 10 seconds all is right with the world.

My best friend had a female German Shepherd when she adopted 3 feral lkittens. That dog used to drag those kittens around by “swallowing” their whole heads in her mouth and dragging them around. They didn’t mind at all and grew up to be fine friends.

Jack Russel's are hunters ... I think we're seeing a natural developement.

Cute ... but Disney did us all a diservice by attributing humanity to animals and now we think animals have the cognative abilities that humans have.

With three fingered cloves.

I agree with your assessment. That kitty is not playing. She's afraid of the dog and the entire video shows the feline trying to escape. She even tries to jump up on her owner's lap for a safe haven, but is rejected.

Things will eventually turn nasty in a month or so......and the scenario will not be so "cute".

Thank you! I thought I was just being cynical but having two cats and a dog, I can see the kitten is not having fun during the video at certain times and is kinda scared. Kittens are way more fragile than a terrier pup. Terriers are aggressive and natural hunters of small prey. I mean, the kitten once it becomes bigger can jump up on something to avoid the aggression but now it’s being tortured and sorry that’s my opinion. It tries to play as its the nature of a kitten but the pup is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too rough and needs to be corrected or the kitten removed when it starts getting too rough.

Say what you will, but I once had a telepathic dog. She didn't say a lot, but when she did I would hear it clearly.

Very Kyoot.
Jack Russels are energetic but my sister in law had one who always acted like he’d just had ten cups of coffee and he got on with her kittehs quite well.

I too own a JRT and love the dog..no more moles in

the yard. She will let you know when someone pulls

in the driveway. She seems to get along well with my two

cats though they are not what you would call close

I`ve heard they are not great dogs for someone that

wants an indoor animal.Mine goes out and follows the

cows around a lot and they get along great

I hear what you are saying about Disney, all that Bambi stuff but dogs are different. My dogs, 3 Jack Russels and a hound dog, can tell me things and ask me things and I swear there is mental telepathy between us.

They have a certain bark, I call it their rabbit bark and I know there is a rabbit in the yard. A particular sound they make when they need to go out to pee. I had to stop using the word “treat” because they were all over me when I said it. Now they have learned to spell because when I spell t-r-e-a-t it is the same thing.
