(CNSNews.com) New York and Massachusetts are administering food stamps to 2,000 dead people, according to Sen. Tom Coburns (R-Okla.) catalog of government waste.
The 2012 Waste Book, released earlier this week, documents $4.5 billion in waste in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), commonly known as food stamps.
Among his findings, Coburn said that, The USDA Inspector General found roughly 2,000 dead people are still receiving food stamps in New York and Massachusetts combined.
SNIP
Marijuana has been linked to an increased appetite, known as getting the munchies, so perhaps it is no surprise the states of Maine, New Mexico, and Oregon gave extra food stamp benefits to users of the illegal drug, the report states.
We would go a long way toward reducing government waste by enforcing the Constitution, but that horse left the barn long ago.
That’s a lot of Cool Ranch Doritos.
Sigh- Another side effect of the “It should be legal, mannnnn” mentality.
Dopers are the worst of liars, cowards, sissies and socialist parasites—all of ‘em.
Back in the day, I paid for my own damn munchies. Hells bells, I had to pay for the pot (not complaining).
Maybe they should prescribe it for anorexics.
I didn’t see any references as to how to stop this waste, nor did I see any plans to arrest and prosecute those who are using the Food Stamps that were sent to the dead, nor those who sold their food stamps to buy dope.
Another law like DOMA that Obama chooses not to enforce.

Feel free to enjoy injectable toxic porcine hormones though.
“Fair share” applies to M&Ms, too!
Yes the same 2,000 dead people voted in all 57 states, and they voted often.
“Why shoudnt they get aid ? They all voted for obama.”
You’re right. But what they won’t tell you is the food stamps issued to the expired voters were only good for items that were also past their expiration date..
Yes. Perfect photo...!
Everybody must get stoned....so they can get more food stamps for the munchies
Cheech and Chong happy w this development
It continues: These states allowed some marijuana users to deduct the cost of the drug from their income when determining the amount of the benefits provided for which they are eligible. In Oregon, the deduction [i]ncluded fees for obtaining a state-issued medical marijuana card, expenses incurred while cultivating marijuana and the costs of purchasing it from a third-party grower.
That's a snide and moronic leap of 'logic' by Coburn. No evidence presented that the deduction was 'munchie'-related ... which it clearly wasn't: Coburn wasn't smart enough to leave out the deduction for "fees for obtaining a state-issued medical marijuana card" ... which exposes that this was a medical deduction (which dollars-to-doughnuts was also available to anyone else using prescription meds).
So which reticle is best for hunting varmints in very low intensity light distributed over hundreds of tiny, outfacing points throughout a large field? ...dot, donut, X, triangle, mil dot...?
