Obama Gives Up, Goes Back to DC to Work On His Exit Package
My Fertile Brain | 30 October 2012 | Myself

Posted on 10/30/2012 11:47:37 AM PDT by Steely Tom

Let me tell you something boys and girls:

Obama has given up. He knows it's over.

He made this decision in Florida when he decided to "come back to Washington to direct the Sandy relief effort."

Poppycock.

He knows he's going down, and he came back to DC to (a) spare himself the anguish of having his narcissistic supply on the campaign trail, and (b) to plot the course of his final 83 das in office.

Part of the latter is this: what kind of deal is he going to be able to make to get himself and his cronies off the hook for any number of bombs he's now got ticking under himself. These include all the ones we know about - Benghazi, F&F, the "green" companies - plus (I'm sure) many others.

How does he get the best deal for himself on these? Who among his inner circle does he include in the deal?

The "deal" includes many elements. Obama still has many cards to play between election night and 20-Jan-2013.

Obviously, he has the pardon pen. A biggie.

He also has all kinds of nasty things he can do with Presidential power. He can, for instance, bargain over what he does with the vast amount of classified information he has direct control over. He can reclassify much of this at his whim, on the basis of an Executive Order.

He can make things Top Secret that are currently Secret. And he can convert anything he wants to Unclassified as well.

He can - and, I'm betting, will - play hardball with this against the Republicans in the House and Senate who are coming after him on all kinds of issues.

Nasty, but one must expect nasty from this guy, who cares not a whit for the United States and never has.

Another thing to consider: Do we really want to "go after him" for everything, even after he's out of office?

Making kidnappers or rapists eligable for the death penalty simply increases the chance that they'll see no upside to letting their victims live once the criminal knows he has no chance for escape.

Same here. Do we benefit more - as a country - by letting Obama and his claque swim away, or do we continue to press for justice after they're gone?

"throw the prison doors to huge crowds of “his people” His own private 0mugabe army! Just as well armed, and funded as the US military. Loyal only to him.

His private army will be distracted by the first porno theater, first all-you-can-eat buffet, first all-you-can-buy drug bazaar they come across.

They'll look scary, but their "operational tempo" will fall short of expectations.

Very likely some of his minions will stir up as much “civil unrest” as possible in order to punish “white America” for rejecting him.

There will be no justice. President Pollyanna (Bush 43) was much more conservative than flip-flop Mitt, and he didn't do anything about the Clinton's shameful pardon / vandalism / looting party.

I'm looking forward to seeing Obama fired as much as anyone, but he will be replaced by a Massachusetts liberal liar.

The wise conservative will take pleasure in Obama's exit yet be DOUBLY vigilant during the next four years.

Let us not forget it was Bush who destroyed the fourth amendment. The Romney / Ried / Salt Lake cult will go after the first.

Mark my words.

That’s the problem the left faces - their proxy thugs have been morally decayed over the generations to the point that they are nearly worthless to them.

I am surprised that Obama has not started dressing himself in a Colonel’s uniform and cap with lots of gold braid and medals on his chest, and driving all around the country in a motorcade with flags on the bumpers like Amin did.

Well, Big Daddy didn't have Air Force One. That has flags on it, and in it. Lots of chum for the choom gang.

As far as the uniform, I wonder if he thinks about when he looks in the mirror.

"How far reaching is his power to pardon—i.e. can he throw the prison doors to huge crowds of “his people” who have been convicted of rape and murder?"

Think bigger. He could "pardon" all illegal aliens in one fell swoop.

He probably would, but in his perspective, 4 or 5 stars just wouldn’t be enough. /s

I think he would have to identify them by name for such to be effective.

He could certainly pardon all terrorists held at Gitmo.

Are you kidding? The left thinks they are winning. They know it is close, but they believe they are going to carry Ohio and win. Nate Silver and his “model”, along with InTrade odds and a few friendly polls is what they base this on. Obama has most certainly not given up.

Hussein is back in DC dealing with the storm because it is a great way to make him look like a leader and presidential. Romney can’t do the same, and Obama will use this to his advantage. Make no mistake, this storm was a big shot in the arm for Obama.

Neah.

Truth is, criminalizing policy is a path to civil war and dictatorship. If an Administration KNOWS that it faces prosecution upon its ouster, it can’t very well afford to lose power can it? Remember, Democrats were thinking about prosecuting Bush II when he left the White House, but (relatively) wiser heads prevailed.

I just hope that Romney will be prepared to hand a big sack of excrement that Obama is going to hand him in January...

The left may say they think they are winning, but the ones in the know, or the ones who can think, know it’s not happening for Obama this time. They got an inkling at his convention speech. And they knew if for sure after Debate#1. He is just not into winning.

If Obama wanted it and thought it was close, he wouldn’t let the hurricane stop him. Remember in 2008, he said he could run his campaign and manage the financial crisis. So I think he knows they are losing, so why spend a week out wasting your time with the little people. The hurricane gives him an excuse to “pull out” of the states without looking like it.

Dunno. If I had a $35 million compound awaiting me in Hawaii, I probably couldn’t lose the election fast enough!

Good jobs for nobama, the first-Anti-American President, would be casino greeter, washroom attendent or lily-dipper.

HillBuzz hsd a column on this very topic a couple of days ago. They speculate that Obama’s last 83 days will be devoted to securing as much money for Mr. and Mrs. Zero, and their upcoming Barack Obama/Karl Marx Social Justice Center and Car Wash in Hawaii. As during Clinton’s final days, everything will be for sale; ambassadorships, pardons, favorable executive orders, etc. And with lessons learned from the Clintons, Zero and Company will find ways to keep their deals out of the spotlight, and the money trail will never be uncovered.

Clinton has reportedly pocketed well over $100 million since leaving the White House. Obama has the potential to make that much BEFORE leaving office.

Sad to say, but lining his pocket might be the least damaging option for Obama’s final months in office.

You may have a point.

This was around the time in 1980 when Pat Caddell told Carter he was going to lose, within 1% of the actual vote totals.

If he loses he will be replaced by Republicans. Republicans just love to ‘let bygones be bygones” and everything will just go silent

This is exactly what this corrupt "Two-Party Cartel" must do. Always do what is in favor of the elites who are basically liberals & own both factions.

All that lost potential. Just think of the positive impact he could have had on the black community: encouraging young people to achieve in school, end out of wedlock births, stop the violence.

He could have been a star. He actually made it worse.

Yup, absolutely. He could have gone down in history. Bigger than MLK, bigger than Roosevelt.

I don't know if he (a) just didn't have a clue of how to do it, or (b) really didn't give a fig one way or another, the whole thing has just been a big act.

I'm leaning toward (b). Could also be both.

He had a 18 month window of opportunity when he could have done practically anything he wanted. Both houses of congress in the tank for him, media in the tank for him. Majority of the population either in the tank or willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Extraordinary levels of good feeling, both domestically and in foreign countries.

He squandered the whole thing on his stupid Obamacare hail-Mary pass. Trying to set up a dynamic that would turn America into a socialist state by setting up a socialized medical system.

That could still happen, I don't know. The medical profession seems to be run by boneheads, although individual practitioners can be great. It's like football. Michael Vick may be a great quarterback, but that doesn't mean he can run the NFL.
