City might require food carts to offer vegetarian items (Madistan)
Wisconsin State Journal ^ | 10-31-12 | DEAN MOSIMAN |

In Madison, people dining at food carts don't have to eat their veggies, but in the future, they could get the choice.

The city's Vending Oversight Committee, as part of its annual review of food carts, on Wednesday will discuss whether carts must offer vegetarian menu items.

Exhibit A - All you need to know about progressives in one article.

Note the word "must". Do as we say, or else!

There is too much here to even single out for comment, every sentence is a joke (or a bad punchline). It's just a typical example of how the Smart People (minor bureaucrats who support Tammy Baldwin and pee in the corners of the occupied Capitol) think.

After all, it's not like the food cart vendors do so to make money or anything - they must have a public employee to tell them what's "good for business".

OK, stock apples and bananas. That's vegetarian. Problem solved.

Really, if there was a significant market for vegetarians, the carts would stock veggie food.

Madison needs to be lanced, like an infected, suppurating boil.

I feel sorry for the idiot ordering a tofu burger or tofu dog that has been sitting in the “hot dog water” or grill for three months before it is finally sold...

Just Saiyan!

Hotdog stands have catsup or ketchup and pickles.

Why is that when you have a large university you also get a large number of liberals? Worse yet, why do people think it is a good idea to fund large universities with tax dollars? Public funding is the only way liberal ideas survive to be taught over again after the ideas have been proven to fail. I believe that is the definition of crazy.

And vegan vendors, restaurants, and stores must stock red meat, right?

Yea, I didn’t think so.

If there was that big of a demand for it you would think a couple of vendors would sell vegan only and make a killing.

Nuke it from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

As I just posted on another thread on an entirely different topic......

Get some of the picked-over, past-its-prime, on-sale produce from the local supermarket and stock that on your carnivore food cart - at steep prices. :-)

I know only one vegan, and it’s clear she just wants to be a “special-needs” eater. She gets to make a big to-do about where to eat and what to order. A self-centered little person she is.

“Really, if there was a significant market for vegetarians, the carts would stock veggie food.”

BINGO! The thing that these chuckleheads never seem to get is, if there was a demand for it, some entrepreneur would step up to meet that need because there would be an opportunity to make money.

The worst part about this proposal is, the profit margins for some of these folks isn’t that fat to begin with. To be forced to buy food products that aren’t likely to sell well means an increase in operating costs and reduced net revenues could well sink a number of smaller vendors.

The suggestion came from a city food cart reviewer who is a vegetarian, street vending coordinator Warren Hansen said.

"I always tell new applicants to include at lease one vegetarian item because there's a demand for it," Hansen said. "It's just good business."

If there really was a demand for the crap, the vendors would see that for themselves and offer the items. They wouldn't need some "City Food Cart Reviewer" (whatever the heck that is) to tell them.

If it's such "good business", wouldn't the vendors themselves already be aware of it?

Worse yet, why do people think it is a good idea to fund large universities with tax dollars?

Fortunately I have the opportunity to vote for a well known tea partier for a seat on the University of Michigan board of regents. Rob Steele is the guy who got into the race late and forced John Dingell to spend tons of money he shouldn't have had to spend. Steele says he will work to end the waste of taxpayer dollars on frivolous and pure partisan programs at U of M.

Just last week they had this event at U of M and had the audacity to call it a "non Partisan" event.

Next step: force McDonalds to sell pizza and KFC to sell hamburgers, so people don't have to travel far (and have to waste expensive gasoline) to get the food they want. Make everyone stock anything that anyone might want.

Entrepreneur’s stay the hell away from Wisconsin. You may have a great money-making idea for a new kind of widget that will make you millions. But beware, Wisconsin has a widget oversight committee. You will have to buy your widget parts locally and your widgets will have to be packaged in biodegradable containers. And you cannot sell your widgets unless you also offer midgets and digits. I hear that Texas is widget friendly state so you might consider locating there.

Just like smoking bans in bars. If there was a demand for it, someone would make a killing. Instead all Michigan bars lost business.
