Central Maryland and the power stayed pretty much on. Only brief outages due to the wind. I guess we lucked out. There was a lot of debris but, that’s it for us.

Here's an update for this evening ...

Things are getting more stable here in New Jersey, and if weren't for these long lines at the gas stations I'd say we're making real progress. More and more businesses are open every day, and almost half of the employees in my office now have power at home.

Things are quite a bit worse in NYC and along the coast, I understand. Keep safe, everyone!

We're fine. We had a little rain and some wind, never even lost power.

It sounded like it was going to be a direct hit and a merger with a big cold front from Canada, but the thing just went westward instead.

I think I worked outside every day during "the storm" and it wasn't actually cold. (well, it was in the 50s and 60s)

Just off the coast here in central CT. Lots of people without power. Bad wind and water damage along the Sound.

In my immediate area, far fewer trees down compared to Irene. Power restored yesterday... was out for eight days during Irene, so this was no problem. We were completely prepared for a two week outage.

i only watch foxnews and refuse to ever tune in to the lsm, (however i will watch msnbc after fox calls it for romney), so i have a question for anyone with the stomach to watch cnn, etc. are they showing the devestation in ny, nj, or are they downplaying as a protection for obama?

(out from 8:50 PM Monday ‘til 5PM or so Friday). First order of business - took a hot shower - glorious!

What lesson did I learn for next disaster: Remain Calm.

In my haste to save fridge coolness, I hurriedly put the milk carton back in, knocking over over the whipped cream can which filled a shelf and a half with frothy mess.
