Another gem from the Dallas King George III-"Secession means Civil War"

Really, and the socialists would fight to keep Texas in the Union? Right. I think they would be relieved.

By tomorrow there will be a million signatures. Maybe Glenn's head will explode. Cool.

I guess they’ll have to move to the “unseceded” states, now, won’t they?

How is the new country going to deal with all their people that are currently on federal welfare, health and aid programs?

SOOOO glad you asked that question!

Easy...ALL welfare programs will be phased out, or cut off, immediately. No worky, no stay. You'll have to be self sufficient (savings, work, etc.) to live in the "new" country, FRiend ;)

The freeloaders will self deport.

He is warning people not to put their names on the petition.

For those who were victims of the Pooklik Skrewel Kollective, the following is essential:
“Still, if you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than live as slaves.”

They would NOT let any state leave the union, for several reasons,

first and foremost, they can’t stand the thought of someone “escaping” their utopia / subjugation.

Secondly, all the productive people and businesses would move there and leave them without the means to support their socialist system.

How about pieces of states break off and form new ones?

Would that be acceptable?

Of course it is. How is the new country going to deal with all their people that are currently on federal welfare, health and aid programs?

I guess they will have to live with their families or apply for refuge status and head to the socialist states of America. I really don't care, It is about freedom not about somebodies Govt check. If you can't handle that go to the USSA. AMF.

Signing a secession petition is ridiculous because is requires no effort or sacrifice whatsoever.

Nobody is going to take a petition seriously. If a million people start marching on state capitols and legislators start actually drafting legal-looking provisions for how this would happen, then... maybe.

But until then, people have to realize the magnitude of what this would mean in 21st century America. You have to actually be fed up enough to divorce yourself from the lifeline that has been crafted to Washington over the past 100+ years. This is not for the faint-of-heart... and it's because we're that squishy that we've gotten into this mess in the first place.

It would take millions that in each state to force such a thing happen. But we can't even get that many people off their posteriors to go vote out the menace... and that's the easy thing to do. So of course we deserve this government: we're too lazy for anything else that's actually accountable.

You really think that would happen in Dallas or Houston? Where would all those new jobs come from?

More likely there would be another revolution inside this new country. Good luck with self-deportation.

What do we have to lose with Secession? Obama? Reid and Pelosi? The MSM? Washington DC? Works for me!

I do see some potential problems: Say Texas secedes. Millions of people who like the idea of no state income tax, right to work, tort reform, part time legislature, pro-business attitude, drill baby drill, etc. would move there right away overcrowding the state. There would be a HUGE stampede to the Lone Star state.

Glenn may be here in Texas but he ain't no Texican by a long shot. After all he did choose deep, deep red Dallas (run by the John Wiley Price crowd) as his Texas home. He also insulates himself from getting to know any real texicans sticking with the elitist jet setting crowd and hardly being here at all. He needs to cut himself loose from his entourage and go out into the rural areas and meet people without telling them who he is, then he might have a chance of becoming a Texican.

What if they don’t want to or the other states won’t accept them? Where will the jobs for all those that are currently on welfare come from?

What would be the likely outcome of America breaking apart?

Much unpleasantness.

What would be the likely outcome of America staying together?

“Where would all those new jobs come from?”

From the businesses moving there from the former Soviet States of America.

I answered the “jobs” part,
and if “they don’t want to”, then they can find some work or go hungry.

As far as the other states not accepting them, that would be ironic, no? The whole point of the other states NOT seceding is that they want to have their “social programs”.
