New York Jets: The Tim Tebow Experiment Is Officially Dead (His role in the team is shrinking)
Business Insider Sports ^ | 11/18/2012 | Tony Manfred

Tim Tebow only played three snaps on offense against the Rams yesterday.

Coincidentally or not, the Jets won 27-13 and Mark Sanchez had his best game since Week 1.

At this point it's crystal clear that the Tebow takeover that everyone assumed would happen when the Jets traded for him just isn't going to happen.

If there was ever a time to turn to Tebow, it was this week.

The Jets were desperate — 3-6 after two-straight 20-point losses. And Mark Sanchez was in a certifiable tailspin, sitting in the bottom five in the league in passer rating and completion percentage.

Everything pointed to them using Tebow more yesterday. But instead they used him less, and it actually worked. The Jets have said all along that Tebow is nothing more than a back-up, but only now is it clear that they meant it. We should have realized sooner that Tebow was never going to be a consequential part of this offense — like when he stayed on the sidelines while Sanchez threw for just 103 yards in a 34-0 blowout against the 49ers, or when the top-secret wildcat offense that the Jets ran with him turned out to be a totally vanilla scheme that required no real thought or practice.

But despite all that there has always been the suspicion that Tebow's time was coming, or else why would they have traded for him at all?

Big mistake to trade him away from the Broncos

Not!

Tebow was never signed to take over from Sanchez. Unless the Jets gave Sanchez a fat contract with substantial guaranteed money knowing that they were going to get rid of him or make him a backup. Tebow has barely played but he seems to be one of the scapegoats for the Jets’ lousy season.

LOL - after last week’s disaster the Jets were chomping at the bit to get the “Tim’s Terrible” meme going. I see it only took 3 plays this time. Kill the strawman!

I’m with you. Tebow brings something to the game...to an offense...that’s at least as important as a rifle of a throwing arm, and that’s “field generalship”. THAT, IMHO, is his real strength. He has a very positive, winning attitude and that is infectious. His passing skills certainly need developing, but no question he has the raw material to work with.

It’s those other intangibles that have contributed so much to his success, on and off the field. To me, the man’s a winner all around.

I believe God will promote Tebow in good season.

The Jets success or lack thereof has nothing to do with Tebow, much to the chagrin of some in the media. The season is the result of a poor-to-mediocre team, not a backup quarterback who doesn’t see much playing time.

Kansas City can use Tebow next year if they fail to draft first and get a QB in the draft.

The Jets sucked prior to Tebow and they still suck now. Their problems run far deeper than the QB position.

Add these other sobriquets:

State high school champion
Heisman Trophy winner
National championship winning quarterback

Not sure where all of this anti-Tebow stuff is coming from, is it an attempt to downplay the role of the white man in today’s society?

Dump on Mitt, dump on Lance, dump on Joe, dump on Tebow.

Is there a pattern there?

So the Jets manage to beat a mediocre 3-6 Rams team and suddenly all is right with the world again?

OK, we'll talk after the Jets play the Patriots three days from now.

Watch him. He’s BAD. Poor throwing motion, awful accuracy etc... Broncos won with a great defense, running and a couple of lucky plays against the Steelers.

He’s not the first good, great college QB to not be a good one in the pros.

For a Christian, Tebow decided to go into the crotch of the Obamanation and see how it works out.

To bad his Christian believes are making his a crappy quarterback. I love how you blame the area and not Tim himself....so typical liberal of you.
