It's good to know that the GOP-e will say that Santorum is next in line. /Sarc.

... will back him, say that it it is his turn, and not Chris Christie's turn, etc. /Sarc.

I mean, George Bush defeated McCain, and so McCain was the presumptive "next in line," (that's how it works, right? /sarc) although he still had to fight for it and had at one point sunk pretty low --- even captioned carrying his own baggage.

And McCain defeated Romney, so it was then Romney's turn --- and he was next in line --- right?

But does this rule only apply to RINOs?

Speaking of Chris Christie... Given what Limbaugh said about Christie, and his choice words about him a little while back, I wonder where Ann Coulter now stands concerning Christie...

BTW, I wonder if any Republican will be on O'Reilly's show over and over again the next four years.

Oh, I forgot. All closed primaries. Registered party members should be the only voice in picking the party nominee.

FWIW none of the presumptive candidates appeal to me. If I HAD to pick from thst list I suppose Palin, Rubio, Walker, Ryan could be made to work. Sarah is going to be too old I think...I have questions about Rubio but he might be OK...Walker isn’t big on international affairs and Ryan is good but after this election might be damaged.

I never liked Santorum and the rest are meh.

That said thanks for your Skyfall review! I’ll wait for the blu ray or not watch it at all. One thing you did mention that attracted me was the cinemetography. Glad they got rid of that jerky, handheld, reality filming! But the rest of your review was pretty much as I feared.

How about ‘who gives a frack’; let the Electoral College do it’s thing and the rest of us back those that understand what the flippin’ Constitution means and starve Fedzilla back to where it should have always been. Give some balls back to the 9th/10th, with the States taking back what was/is theirs.

I have never understood the focus on ONE person, when having the Congress in our corner could fix the courts and other shit that’s come out of D.C. over the past 100 years...

“Most powerful man”, “Bully pulpit”, blah blah blah. CiC and host, only. The rest people mistake for the exec. seat

True but it did not stop the current President.

Though I doubt the press would give Rubio as pass as they did for the current President.

None of the 2012 candidates have a chance in hell of being nominated in ‘2016. Likewise, Christie’s chances are slim to none. No pun intended.

Well, if there were enough people in the Electoral COllege who gave a frack, I might agree with you. Eighty years ago, Hillaire Belloc observed that England had become a paper Monarchy with no Monarch, and that America had evolved into a Republic that has in effect, a functional, elected Monarch.

That said, under the U.S. Constitution, the President is the chief Executive with considerable powers given to him. Even going back to at least Jefferson, who was supposed to be a small government guy, the powers expanded past the original parameters, and we all know what SCOTUS has made of the 9th and 10th Amendments.

Some state is going to have to not take the government bribery (highway, education funds) in order to exert push back. The Libertarian Free State Project made a well-meaning formal attempt in New Hampshire, and it has pretty much meant bupkis. Even they couldn't resist the tempting candy of established cities nearby. The next attempt would have to take place in a state less likely to be invaded by coast dwellers who are fleeing their own litter-box. That would be places like Alaska, Wyoming, maybe Texas.

Sadly, Dennis is the smartest and most conservative of that bunch.”

Rubio is not perfect.

But I’m not 100% convinced that he is less conservative than Kucinich.

Then again, who can know for certain with the pathetic GOP these days? (Maybe you are right after all....)

Santorum was a sitting Senator, and lost reelection worse than Christine O’Donnell did in her infamous defeat, a history making 17.4% wipeout as an incumbent.

Santorum was a big Romney supporter in 2008, and endorsed presidential candidate Arlen Specter running on a platform of removing pro-life from the party platform in 1996.

Santorum has many similarities with Romney, such as having switched to pro-life for his first campaign, and being anti-Reagan during the Reagan years

Santorum rewrote Newt's history as speaker then bragged about being part of the coup that took him down. Screw him. Backstabbing little punk. He needs to stay home and take care of his family.

Senator Rubio is ineligible to be president or vice president.

Only if he runs as a Republican.
