sorry - I didn’t go so far as to check the shipping which is probably the BIGGEST rip off in internet purchasing.

I was kind of bummed about it. Good deal, but ironic that you can't use them in California.

Check out my post 60 for ethanol gas treatment. The only problem I have had with E-ZORB is getting it to mix. It has the consistency of honey. Best to add prior to fill.

The Blitz assets have been bought out of bankruptcy by another company that is in the process of hiring a staff to re-start operations. Given their previous connections to WalMart, I expect that relationship will soon be restored.

I know this because I’m part of a manufacturing consultant network in OK and our rep in that area has kept all of us informed. The latest release was about the hiring process for key personnel (mfg. mgr., quality mgr, engineering mgr.) so I expect operations will begin shortly after New Year’s.

One of the last things I remeber about living in California is buying a one gallon gas can with a “lawyer spout” to use for my mower. The spout had a push/pull anti siphon function that made it impossible to use without putting it all the way into the tank on my Toro mower to press it against the bottom. When I did, I couldn’t see the level of the fuel and it over flowed and spilled all over the place. There is no way it could have been used to put gas into my ‘85 El Camino if I ever needed to.

So true. The "lawyer spout" is the reason I went to flexible funnels.

I expect operations will begin shortly after New Year’s.

Now if they could figure out how to make a gas can that doesn't SUCK, it would be great.

Now their newer 5 gal cans only have a handle on the top. Makes pouring even more interesting.

I have a bunch of those with the stupid nozzle that lets air into them as you pour. Takes forever to fill my mower. I have a couple that have a vent at the back with a cover. I love that one as it saved much time while holding 5 gallons of gas upside down. I’ve thought about making a vent hole and cover for the others.

I assume you are talking about THESE #$%@&!@! THINGS. I guess they decided we couldn't handle pouring gas out of the old style cans.

Well in just THREE uses, I spilled more gas than I ever spilled IN MY ENTIRE LIFE (and I'm 51) using the old reliable cans. I hope the lawyers, greenie weenies, or whoever was responsible for the change are happy with the outcome. It's 10 times worse.

Yep, that’s pretty much what I do as well. Always amazed that people wait until some crisis and then panic buy.

These are all I use now and I have 4 of them. No more crappy plastic cans stinkin’ up the joint and spilling everywhere.

It's true. They had them in mine too, and I saw them in a WalMart in Greer, SC as well.

Of course, since the election they have been sold out.

I found 5 gallon containers for 10 bucks each at a Job Lot store in RI. I went to the stores other locations and cleaned them out. Filled, stabilized up the yang and stashed out of sight. I have almost 100 gallons for emergencies.

I’ll bet there are some affordable old steel cans at the local Army surplus.

The ones with the lawyer-proof nozzles are just useless.

On the plastic cans, the threads are primarily the same from brand to brand. I have tossed all nozzles, keep the caps and use one really nice flexible nozzle on any can I need to pour from. I wet myself with gas one time with the crappy, totally non-functional 'lawyer-inspired' nozzle you speak of. Threw them all out.

what is a good, entry level AR 15?

Save some dough on the unit and ammo and get yourself a nice Ruger Mini-14 tactical. Verrry nice little carbine. Uses .223 ammo which isn't that far off from 5.56 and it is very customizable as well as being purty dang good as a stand off weapon for about half the price of an AR-15.

Excellent gas prepping. I might suggest that in my experience, Startron is a better product than Stabil. Once I switched over, I never had ethanol fuel line problems in my motorcycles like I did with Stabil.
