My two most disliked radio voices: #2: Doc Thompson; #1: Mark Belling.

They sound somewhat alike, but Mark Belling more so.

I think he started in Memphis back in the late 90s
before I fled the country.
I remember thinking of him as a young kid,
just getting his feet wet, trying to be the next Rush.
I felt sorry for him.

No, it’s not stammering. What Mark Davis does -— when he has the great good fortune to sub for Rush -— who is away today doing something very special that he will tell us all about when he comes back on Monday — Monday being the first real work day after thanksgiving — which didn’t occur at all like the mainstream wants to say it did, but was a repudiation of the earlier tried socialism -— which keeps being tried year after year in the world’s history but it never works -— when are the liberals going to understand this....

You, my friend, have not heard enough Talk Radio. While I do wish that Belling would just get over is perpetual cold, already, nobody could hold a candle to the now deceased lefty Lynn Samuels, whom Bob Grant dubbed "The Fish Wife". Everything you hate about New York (Noo Yawk) is captured in her voice. On Rush's flagship (WABC-770 AM NYC), he used to LEAD INTO Samuels (Rush had 10AM - Noon) while Samuels took the Noon-2 segment. She was fired several times, most famously when she lost it when paired with the completely unstoppable and controlled Barry Farber. To her credit, she seemed to be an honest liberal, calling out her own at times. She also was sympathetic to folks as diverse as Ollie North, Rush Limbaugh and Joan Andrews, who got more attention from her than from the regular conservative talkers.

Quite frankly, the last time Rush did anything "special" was Dan's Bake Sale.
Today, "special" means a new flavor tea.

I turn the radio off after Rush. Hannity wears me out. He is constantly asking the same question (over and over), his voice is whinny, and he is the consumate self promoter. His monologues are one long sentence where he interrupts himself constantly. He can’t complete a thought. He has ads on the Rush show, “If you like Rush, you need to listen to MY show.” Hannity couldn’t pack Rush’s lunch. To be fair, I like Hannity’s message, but he sounds like a broken record.
