The man, only named as Jan, married Monica, his family's former au pair in a previous marriage, in 1993 despite legal difficulties raised by the Belgian immigration authorities.
But it was only in recent weeks that he discovered that his wife had originally been a man and had undergone a sex change.
"I feel I've been assaulted," he told the Het Nieuwsblad newspaper.
"I brought her to Belgium. That was not easy. The Belgian courts had serious doubts about the authenticity of her birth and her identity papers, but eventually they accepted it anyway. I thought she was an attractive woman, all woman. She had no male traits."
Jan, 64, said that he and his wife had decided not to have children because he had two by his previous marriage and she fooled him by pretending to menstruate, using sanitary towels, "to conceal the truth".

Even those who are willing to pretend that a gay "marriage" is the same as a real marriage should, if they are honest, support an annulment for deception at this level. In any honest marriage, just about everything important would be shared. Keeping a secret of this magnitude proves that "Monica" is in this purely for himself, with or without his genitals intact.
Monica turned out to be Manica.

There are two possibilities here.
The first is a congenital foul up about gender assignment. That is, a female baby with female internal organs, but male external organs. And get this, even Saudi Arabia recognizes this as a correctable medical condition, without getting all weird and Sharia about it.
And this is one of several congenital foul ups that can happen.
The other possibility is also common, of adult gender reassignment surgery. And while you can get surgery and hormone therapy, there is a legal gap here about what circumstances you should be required to identify yourself as transgendered.
As things stand now, the law is in effect countenancing criminal fraud, by legally allowing transgendered to pretend that they are fertile natural genders.
While the politically correct adore the idea of such fraud, eventually the law must recognize that permitting theft, and theft of affection by deception opens the door to violence and even homicide.
As things stand today, the law effectively says that, “Though this person took a lot of money from you under false pretenses, and stole vital years from the limited number of years in which you could seek a mate, stealing also the possibility of your having natural children, you have no legal recourse against them because they are from a protected class.”
“Which is why I freely admit pushing that thing through a large wood chipper.”
But he/she/it made great waffles!
I dunno. This sounds like the ultimate Belgian Waffle.
