Anyone whose viewing is messed up, go to tools on your toolbar and TURN OFF COMPATIBILITY VIEW. That's it. That's all.

No, it had nothing to do with the compatibility view setting. We tried that on multiple computers with different operating systems and different IE browsers, particularily IE 8. Others weere using Safari and Firefox while the problem was still occurring. Changing the compatibility view back and forth and rebooting had no effect on the problem. Eveerything has been working correctly again for awhile now with no further changes in the client computers. So, something had to have been changed in the datastream being deelivered to the client browsers.

What browser? What OS are you running?
I am running the latest Chrome in WinXP and also in Linux, and I don't have a toolbar, or a "Compatability View" setting.
The problem is FREE REPUBLIC. It is fundamentally broken.

I will bet you this will all clear up after the Freepathon.

Perhaps you had The Problem and the Compatibility View Problem. So, when the The Problem ceased and the Compatibility View Problem continued, you would still have seen a problem until the Compatibility View Problem was also turned off.
