He apparently asked the man his shoe size.
I’ve always seen examples of kindness on the streets of New York City. It is not the heartless place so many people think it is.

“I often see evidence of private acts of human kindness here where I live.
There are a number of people here who often help others with no desire for recognition.
Sense of community is still strong here.”
YES! I see the same where I live. Most I know give privately, no accolades expected. I am poor (& disabled), yet I still help out those who have less than I do, the only people who know are those people I help!

Thank you. I always get a little embarrassed when someone thanks me. I always thought it was my duty to stand up and wear the uniform. Even as a child it was the only thing I wanted to do. I am part of the .45% and would do it again without hesitation.
God bless the USA!

Thank you, sir.
That is how it should be.
It is not about money, it is about helping your neighbors.
It is a very old tradition here. Dating back to when this county was settled. My family has been here since 1889. That was an extremely hard time. Those who came to settle here simply wanted to be left alone, enough to settle on the fringe of the prairie where life was harsh, but few meddled in your life.

They fit. The cop went to the store not thinking - and then realized he had to go back and ask the guy what shoe size he is! (A size 12).

If the guy did, he did, but the cop did the right thing. We can control others actions but we are responsible for our own.
