Apple still didn’t fix the Bluetooth or voice command in the iPhone 5. We dumped our iPhone 4 and went with Motorola RAZR M. Both the Bluetooth and the voice command work.
I like the HTC phones too.. had the HTC Evo 4g for the past 2 years. Love the feel to it... it feels nice and solid.
I just got the Samsung Galaxy S2, which I also love. I got that so I could dump Sprint and go to month-to-month on Boost for $30 less per month (for basically the same service).
I also have a Samsung SmartTV, so an added benefit is all the integration with the phone.
I got a IPhone 5 a few weeks ago. I am sure others do the same, but It is lightning fast. I am satisfied with it.
I won’t argue that Google is a pita. But, for my use, the android is much more useable. And with the two new phones, I haven’t experienced any lag. And the Nexus is by far the best of the 3. Very smooth movement.
Have a relative who owns an apple I5 that wanted some photos that I had taken with my Galaxy S3. I said we could just take the card out and put it in the computer. She said Oh, you have a memory card in your phone? I answered yes. She said where is it. I said it’s behind the battery. She says your phone has a battery you can take out? I said yes. Suspect this relative now has Galaxy S3 Android envy.
I'm not that insecure. Whether I tote around an iPhone, Samsung or Blackberry, my masculinity is not affected.
Sorry, but I’m not buying it.
In my experience consumer desire for “standards” is weak and fickle, and can switch to a new “standard” overnight.
The only exception seems to be in the area software providing the equivalent of the public square. In such a circumstance, folks with something to say will gather where there are more ears.
Hence it would be very difficult for a newcomer to successfully challenge FR as a conservative/constitutionalist forum. Or, for anyone to challenge Facebook as a social networking tool. But, don’t forget, Facebook had to challenge the once leading “Myspace” and win in order to gain that dominance. It is possible even if unlikely that someone could knock Facebook off, even at this stage. After all Facebook, is notoriously clunky and inconvenient to use with an interface like a puddle of dog vomit..
As for handphones, or handphone OS, the dynamic is entirely different and the fall from grace can be swift and relentless, as witness Nokia.

Downright amazing. One company, proprietary OS, closed hardware platform, half-dozen products at most ... And the whole rest of the industry has to gang up just to break even.
In the smart phone market Android is currently selling around 70%, so apple is becoming a niche product already in that market.
In the tablet market I-Pad is still dominant, however the Android devices are just getting started. Microsoft is also just getting started. I saw a survey that 50% of businesses plan to standardize on the Microsoft tablet.
That’s just it. Android has good enough a cheaper, Microsoft has Office and Enterprise domination to pull buyers in.
What is the compelling reason to buy Apple products?
Historically they have been quality products and ahead of the curve. But the competition has caught up to them right now.
Now that’s funny!
