Bloomberg - Link only

(Excerpt) Read more at finance.yahoo.com ...

TOPICS: Business/Economy; Society
KEYWORDS:
Heartbreak of a story. Pictured - 1 black McDonald's worker and his sad tale; minimum wage at (x2 different) McD's for 20+ years and homeless.

This poor guy would have to work 1 million hours to match the CEO's money.....but he still doesn't get 40hrs (that's unlikely to change under 0care)

Also pictured - Evil greedy white CEO of McDonald's

Honorable mentions - shareholders. Those evil shareholders have been receiving the benefits of this growth (fast food) industry and not the poor poor oppressed slaves employees that are forced at gunpoint and pain of death to their firstborn if they do not work at McDonald's.

The comments section appears full of covetous folks looking to close the wealth gap.

Here's the part I want to know:

Why is there never a story about the guy who sweeps out the stadium versus the basketball super star that is paid $20 million a year to play a kids’ game?

How about the guy sweeping up horseshit on the movie set while someone with absolutely no more qualifications is paid $20 million to star in the movie?

How about the guy at NBC that cleans the restrooms versus a talking head that is paid $20 million a year to read from a teleprompter?

Oh that's right, all those fools support liberal causes, so obviously their ridiculous salaries are justified.

8.75 million seems rather modest for a corporation that size, especially considering what some far less productive CEO’s have raked in.

Idiotic stories like this never contrast the jobs.

Nice link. The difference is that taxpayers own GM.

I also see that in your story, a poor down trodden minority individual is missing. If you're going to write a story about the evilness of capitalism your story needs a victim; they should look minority, depressed, cold, tired and surrounded by gloom.

Your evil tormentor should look bright, smug, powerful, and cozy in his expensive suit.

We have to stop thinking minimum wage jobs are supposed to provide a living wage. It is simply not possible. The story should tell us that progressive policies have destroyed the manufacturing jobs base in America. The place where lower skilled workers could earn a living wage.

The $8.25/hour man had the responsibility of managing $1.00 burgers.
The $8Million/Year CEO has the responsibility of managing Billions of dollars and millions of employees.

You can’t blame the CEO for the path the other guy takes.

That “poor guys” has most likely no skills, or else would be compensated accordingly. If you cannot provide value, then you will not be valued. He should be thankful that he even has a job. Talk about a deadender.

Sob stories like these make me furious. Shows how low the moocher class is. Instead of asking how is the CEO is so successful, the context is about “fairness”.

Maybe McDonald’s should be forced to contract its labor requirements to federal, unionized, public employees.

Hell.... $8.25 per hour is pretty generous for a ‘burger flipper’, in my opinion. Chances are, the guy probably hasn’t stepped foot inside of a college classroom.(assuming he even finished high school in the first place)

For his $8.25 per hour, he has absolutely no responsibility what-so-ever, outside of making sure he shows up for work, and prepares whatever food correctly(a monumental challenge for many of them apparently). He likely couldn’t even enter an appointment into an Outlook Calendar(well, the CEO probably doesn’t know how to do that either.... lol)When he punches that time clock and leaves work, his job is OVER.

That CEO has to eat, sleep, and literally LIVE for his job. There is no clock to punch in order to escape work. It follows him home. Is with him on weekends, and is probably often the last thing he thinks about when he closes his eyes at night and tries go to sleep. Does that make him worth $8.75 million? One could honestly debate that. However, to even compare a CEO with a burger flipper is just RIDICULOUS!

I have no particular love for CEOs. I’ve only met a couple that weren’t borderline morons, who were more politically correct/spin doctoring politicians than leaders, knowing very little about what their company REALLY does. I suppose that’s what they are turning out of lame excuses for ‘business schools’ these days....

Maybe those people would rather pay him 10 cents per share of stock per year for running that little burger stand. After all today’s price is $86.00 per share. :)

The CEO makes 530X per year than the minimum wage dude. But I’ve met dozens, if not hundreds of people who started at minimum wage and earn far more after 20 years. I even had a roommate who worked his way up into management and was making more than I was — I’m an engineer and he didn’t even have a college degree. The difference is simply my roommate worked harder than this slug.

I hope this “poor guy” is fired now. How he is angry of being criticized for poor hygiene while working with food?
Why won’t he work with waste management as soon as he can’t afford a bath?

And comments on yahoo are simply disgusting. All these people are communists.
