News Corp. chairman and CEO Rupert Murdoch expressed support for an automatic weapons ban tonight following today's shooting in Newtown, Conn.
"Terrible news today. When will politicians find courage to ban automatic weapons?," Murdoch wrote on Twitter.
Murdoch made a similar call following the theater shooting in Aurora, Colo., in July: "We have to do something about gun controls. Police license okay for hunting rifle or pistol for anyone without crim or pscho record. No more," he tweeted.
News Corp. owns Fox News, where contributors have been objecting to calls for gun control throughout the day.
Were automatic weapons used in any of these incidents? Or is Rupert just lost in space and clueless when it comes to firearms.
Bloomberg also called for a ban.
Murdoch, you commie putz.
Are not automatic weapons already illegal?
Not the registered ones.

What a maroon!
In other news, Murdock and Bloomberg once again prove they aren’t as smart as they think.
What he means and what he said may be two diffrent things, but all the more reason to ridicule the bastard for what he said!
I am assuming this dweeb means semi and full auto and wants to ban everything but single shot weapons...
According to numerous sources:
“The police also found a Bushmaster .223 M4 carbine in Lanza’s car that apparently was NOT USED in the crime.”.
(Basically, any handgun that isn't a revolver... but there are some uncommon exceptions.)
He's simply clueless. Put it in journalistic lingo, using their equipment... they MIGHT grasp it! I wouldn't hold my breath though. I think there's more in play here.
Let’s ban dental floss too; he didn’t use that either.
The Saudis don’t like uppity Americans.
How many guns did the killer buy, dumbass?
May be he feels he has a stake in no one cracking down on the psychiatry industry and forcing them to take appropriate action to keep the nut cases off the street. Hence, his feeble and obvious attempt to change the subject ~ even he should know automatic firearms are not available on the open market in this country.
Bloomberg has been an outofcontrol psychobabble leftwing lunatic for quite some time. I’m surprised he was able to give voice to an opinion on this.
More evidence that Murdoch/Fox News is an integral part of the state controlled media complex.
