Yes, it was his choice to live or die.
There is no death penalty in CT.
If he chose to live would there be a call for the death penalty to return? No. Of course not. But there is a call to limit guns.
If he had killed in a death penalty state, and chose to live, would the liberals have fought to keep him alive? Would they argue he was not mentally sound? He did them a favor by killing himself?
WADR, I do not understand this question. Seems to me that the fact that he wanted to kill is more important. What am I missing here?

What makes you think he killed himself? Did maybe another adult nearby kill him with a gun he or she had, and would the media report that properly? Is the media honest because it would make the adult who shot him a hero?
I am not saying he did not kill himself because I truly don’t know but I wonder if we would have heard it if someone else had pulled the trigger on him.
He did no one a favor by killing himself, because in so doing he left no one to turn our outrage and anger against except ourselves, and that is exactly what is happening.
Fortunately he chose to end his life.
From what I’ve read, apparently he was wearing real, bona-fide body armor. Well, a real bulletproof vest at least.
So did he intend to off himself? Was he perhaps anticipating that someone was maybe going to take a shot at him? Or was it all part of the whole “Look at me I’m such a badass” ensemble?
I’ve often speculated that the reason a lot of spree killers commit suicide after their spree is finished is that adrenalin winds down, and if you’ve ever been in situation where you’re adrenalin is way up, and then it crashes, you end up actually feeling seriously bummed out once the adrenalin rush goes away.
Well, the way it works, is that liberals pick their fights carefully. If it’s a black guy that tears up womens’ private parts while killing them, that’s ok - and they’ll go to the matt to keep him alive - saying that he is somewhat retarded, or whatever.
But when it comes to someone violating their cherished institutions, a school in this case, or the Federal Bldg. in OKC, then it’s fine if they are executed, and you won’t hear a peep out them. Same for a politically incorrect crime, like dragging James Byrd behind a truck.
They know better than to act on principal - they pick their fights carefully and are careful to stay clear of fights that will cost them more than they gain. Republicans could learn something from this strategy.
Thew point is moot, he is dead and he took 26 innocents in a horrific manner.

There is a SWAT practice of letting these guys bleed out before declaring them dead by suicide. Since they control the forensics end they make sure the paperwork matches the report.
The media blasts the picture of this creep into everyone’s TV, and every detail of its life 24/7 , making it world famous , making it a household name.
Question:
Does the media realize that this coverage of its life will create copy cats who seek fame or to go out in a blaze of glory ?
My answer: Yes the media know this and purposefully report on it in such a manner as to create more copy cats that seek fame or glory .They could report on the killings but not the identity, nor details of how it was done so as to not encourage copy cats but they do because the media want this to happen so they can empower government, take away our gun rights , take away our freedom, our rights etc. .The media created the situation where now mass shootings are happening very frequently as they didn’t happen with this frequency in previous decades if at all then. Then the media get excited and happy that their work paid off when one happens and they go all crazy reporting it like sharks in a feeding frenzy.

What if there had been a 2 foot deep snow storm blanketing CT the day before Lanza carried out his murder spree, would he still have murdered his mother then trudged thru the snow to the school to kill the children?
The news media and the White house having been hoping for such a tragedy to get rid of guns once and for all.
The way to stop these shootings is to bring back public hangings. If the shooter kills himself then just hang his naked body out in the public square for view. No fame for the shooter, the media needs to stop the endless coverage, besides I really don't care why they did it. There should be no insanity plea, get rid of the killers because they have forfeited the right to live.
