Tom Cruise’s Jack Reacher Movie Postponed After Shooting

Paramount Pictures made the decision to postpone last Saturday’s premiere and the nationwide opening of Tom Cruise’s new movie, “Jack Reacher” this Friday in the wake of Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting.

The decision was made due to the fact that the movie has a bit of gun violence in many scene’s of the movie, including a violent opening scene.

“Due to the terrible tragedy in Newtown, Conn., and out of honor and respect for the families of the victims whose lives were senselessly taken, we are postponing tomorrow’s Pittsburgh premiere of Jack Reacher,” a Paramount official said in a Dec. 14 statement to the Hollywood Reporter. “Our hearts go out to all those who lost loved ones.”

In the opening sequence of the movie a sniper is shown, “methodically gunning down what looks to be five random targets,” on a riverfront promenade, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The movie star’s Tom Cruise as title character Jack Reacher, a drifter and former Army Military Police officer, working as an investigator for the alleged sniper’s defense attorney, Reacher unravels a case involving a hired killer and a Russian known only as “the zec.”

The movie is based on the 2005 novel written by Lee Child, called “One Shot.”

Paramount has made no decision on when the movie will now actually premiere after its original scheduled December 21st opening has been canceled. The movies December 15th premier at Pittsburgh’s SouthSide Works megaplex was also canceled.

Warner Bros. made similar cancellations of international openings of the “The Dark Night Rises” Batman movie after the Aurora, Colorado movie theatre shootings this past summer.

As if that is different from any other movie these days.

Out of “respect” to the families, Hollywood/Cruise Inc will postpone his violent move opening until after the New Year

Mazel Tov

Give movie passes as Christmas gifts and bring all the kids to the movies! Violence, sex, making white people, straight peopel, conservative people, the US military, cops, and parents look like fools! It’s the Hollywood way! Great family entertainment

Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher?

I think I’m gonna throw up.

Please cancel the release and destroy all the copies.

This is a tacit admission that Hollywood is a part of the problem.

This dwelling on this incident is getting ridiculous.

The biggest obsurdity occurred on Saturday just before college football's New Mexico Bowl, pitting Nevada against Arizona.

Just before the game started, the announcers told us they would NOT refer to Nevada's high-powered offensive formation as the "pistol" - even though that's what it's named. They said for this game, they would just refer to it as the "Nevada" formation.

Sheer lunacy.

Hear, hear! Mark Wahlberg as Bob the Nailer was completely believable. Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher is ludicrous.

Under our current administration, racism is not only accepted, it is something to crow about.

It’s time to go on the offense and boycott motion pictures. Who needs them? Besides, it would defund the left.

Maybe so- but Hollywood has enabled millions of kids to experience gory cold killings, sadism, brutality and sex of all kinds as entertainment for over 50 years now!

Its called “desensitization”. Every violent movie (and video and game and rap song) raises the bar for the next producer to find a new angle to shock viewers.

That IS a recent phenomenon. Murder as entertainment. Try to watch a network TV schedule with the family from 8-10 some evening and count the murders and perversions.

Take in a PG-13 show and enjoy the previews of “coming attractions”

I remember when the movie VILLA RIDES! was released back in 1968.

It was billed as a shoot-em up western for action fans by the critics.

Several weeks later it was reviled as a “motion picture that only glorifies violence!”

What happened? After the movie release Bobby Kennedy got shot, and them MSM went into panic mode.

So the motion picture industry said they would police themselves to prevent Government interfierance in the business.

A RATING SYSTEM! Yeah, that would fix it. G-M-R-X!
Hot d*mn boys, the Hays code is dead! Produce ‘em if you got ‘em!

Within a year Hollywood was producing the most vile sex and blood movies ever seen at that time.

Tom Cruise as a tough superman is a joke to begin with.

Still: It is nothing new. Allan Ladd was a little guy who had to stand on a box to kiss the girl too.

Like when Cruise was married to Mimi Rogers and Nicole Kidman, and they had to wear flats because of being next to the little guy.

Cruise is nothing but a pretty face which all 3 of his wives found out after they married him. Short in the legs light in the shorts.

In Stephen Hunters new book called Soft Target....it’s about a psychotic, pampered, 20 year old video game playing shooter who still lives at home and a narcissistic bureaucrat put in charge called Obobo. Its eerily prescient.
If your going to read it you need to read Dead Zero first.

Casting a mistake regarding the math that’s all. In the books Reacher was 6”5 not 5”6.
