One of the men charged in the alleged beating and armed robbery of a Delray Beach man told police he is a member of the notorious street gang MS-13, according to an arrest report.

According to police, Coreas said he was walking west on McNab Avenue, near the 1900 block of West Atlantic Avenue, in Delray Beach, at about 5:30 a.m. Saturday.

That's when two Hispanic men driving a white vehicle approached, Coreas told police. The man in the passenger side flashed a black handgun and demanded cash from Coreas, who said he had none. Then, the driver got out and punched Coreas in the face, leaving a bruise, Coreas said.

Coreas told police he punched the driver in the face and that's when the accomplice signaled he was going to shoot Coreas. Coreas then sprinted toward a nearby Shell gas station on Atlantic Avenue. When he got inside the service station, he asked the clerk to lock the door, so the clerk did.

The man with the gun chased Coreas to the gas station, but couldn't get him, so he and his partner fled in the vehicle.

Police searched the area and found the two suspects, identified as David James Iglesias and David Francisco-Luis. Both were arrested. Coreas, brought to the arrest site, identified the two as his attackers, police said.

At the Delray station, detectives questioned Francisco-Luis and Iglesias. Luis wouldn't cooperate. Iglesias, who said he was high on speed and booze, admitted in the interview that he was a member of MS-13, according to a probable cause affidavit filed by a Delray Beach police officer.

In other related news, MS 13 is highly active in Maryland, having a presence in 13 of Maryland's 23 counties. Meanwhile, the Maryland state government is currently working hard to ban assault rifles, to reduce the number of rounds a legal gun owner can carry in his firearm, and to generally make it more difficult for law abiding citizens to carry a firearm for self defense.

....and of course Odungo’s amnesty program allows 16-30 year old free reign. Wild West mentality in gangland where someone is dead after sneezing. Over 400 gang related deaths this year in Chicago alone (no wonder Odungo wants Hawaii)..anyone wish to guess the hospital cost of patching up 50,000 to 75,000 gang related bullet holes around the nation this year? I’m sure they carry free Odungocare....oh wait, they get a tax refund for their 25 nieces and nephews they claim each year sometimes totaling over $25,000.

It's hard to tell where organized crime ends and federal government begins. What did Theodore Roosevelt say?

When they call the roll in the Senate, the Senators do not know whether to answer "Present" or "Not guilty."
