The U.S. Navy recently released a video meant to scare people from getting high on bath salts, according to a report on CBS News.
In the video, produced by Navy Medicine command, a sailor ingests some lines of white powder. And then freakish things happen to him.
The faces of people he knows turn into demons, while they're asking him if he's OK.
Eventually, the sailor is taken to a hospital where medical personnel working on him indicate that his vital signs are dangerously high.
Lt. George Loeffler, a psychiatry resident who works at the Naval Medical Center San Diego, says in the PSA that he's seen the effects of bath salts on service members firsthand. http://youtu.be/xmV53HPGhSI

Freaky video. Who or why was it ever suggested to snort those bath crystal women use to take baths, to get high with?
Much more graphic that the classic, “110 volts AC — The deadly shipmate!”
I'm sure you know this, but I'll post anyway.
Bath salts is the common name for a new designer drug on the streets.
Or so I'm led to believe.
But nowhere near as funny as “The Return of Count Spirochete.”
The use of the name bath salts is just a cover for synthetic drugs. Marijuana used to be refereed to as rope.
Read the back of the colorfull little packets sold over the counter at gas stations.
Because everyone goes to a gas station to buy luxury hygiene products that are not sold in reputable stores....

Thank, you, Roseanne Roseannadanna! It’s like my great aunt Lana Roseannadanna used to say, you’re either snorting bath salts or you got toilet paper stuck to the bottom of your shoe... :)
It would be a common mistake for those of us who have been out of the drug scene for decades.... I saw nothing in the article to indicate otherwise and let’s also remember that some people sniff air fresheners and gasoline....
Personally I didn’t make the “designer drug” connection until it was mentioned here. At that point I remembered that there was a slang term....
I do have to wonder a bit about those giving Blue a hard time.
I honestly thought it was something like the huffing aerosol cans or sniffing glue, where someone “discovered” snorting bath salts would get you high. If this has been a phenominon then it is news to me as it seems I’ve heard about it in the last few months and about the dangers of it.
