Every time I see one of those “Speed Limit Enforced by Aircraft” I think, what are they going to do, strafe you with their Cessna 182?

“Monitored” - maybe
“Enforced” - probably not, that would require something like this video.

(who knows what’s coming down the pike with government now?)

If they enforce speed limits from the air they do it with a stopwatch and known distance points. I’ve heard them doing it on major interstates but never on side roads.

And you wondered why the food Stamp President and Eric “the Corrupt” wanted a couple hundred drones for use in the US .... now you know.

You missed my point.

Stopwatch & known distance are fine for monitoring the speed of vehicles on the ground, water or in the air.

mon·i·tor
/ˈmänətər/ Verb
Observe and check the progress or quality of (something) over a period of time; keep under systematic review.

en·force
/enˈfôrs/
Verb
Compel observance of or compliance with (a law, rule, or obligation).
Cause (something) to happen by necessity or force.

Even if a trooper alongside the highway nails you with his radar gun, all he has done is to monitor you. No force has been used. Until they set up a roadblock, spike strips or ram you off the road, nothing has been "enforced". Most often the flashing red & blue lights plus the siren is sufficient threat of force to ensure compliance.

Currently in the US aircraft only monitor highway speed. They do nothing to even hint at force, let alone apply force to limit speed.

Semantics? Yes, but imprecise language leads to (or comes from) imprecise thinking.
