That is so true. When I read it, it brought back childhood memories of "our gang". We consisted of both boys and girls. However, back then, we weren't allowed to stay in, we had to go out and play.....just be back by dinner time, unless you called ahead and asked permission to eat over a friends house.

We were all out, all day, together. Riding our bikes, roller skating, skateboarding, walking, eating at someones house, etc.

I rarely see kids out playing anymore.

Yep, our parents during the summer basically kicked us out of the house and made us play, only to come back for lunch, and then go out again and return for dinner.

Nowadays, people think it’s nuts to let their kids out all by themselves, and that’s even with them having cell phones that they can use.....we didn’t even have those back then.
