ORLANDO, Fla. -
The city of Orlando says it's trying to work with the couple whose front yard vegetable garden has sparked controversy nationwide by passing new regulations that would require changes to their garden, a move that would affect several others in College Park.
In November, Local 6 first reported the story about the controversial garden after the city told the Helvengstons their 25-by-25-foot garden was not in compliance with the city's code.

Just throw some hungry bugs into the garden and the problem will take care of itself.
Heck the worms eat my garden and its not in my front yard.
"We reached out to the community, talked to landscape architects, we looked at what other cities are doing," said Jonathan Ippel, sustainability director of the city of Orlando. "We're trying to be flexible and provide a variety of different options.""Sustainability director?" Is this satire?
Sustainability directors are part of Agenda 21 (along with the “development plan” boards). SD’s often have powers to supercede city councils and even have full law enforcement powers.
Controversial vegetable garden. Hahaha. Gotta watch those violent hateful gardeners.
Seriously. That Sustainability Director (TM) is one self-righteous dude. This is a battle to watch. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for posting. Local totalitarians setting the parameters of your enjoyment/productivity/self-sustainability/existence/freedom/life.
“Local totalitarians setting the parameters...”
Just one of the more important reasons not to give in to the anti 2nd Amendment, leftist, ‘Stalin, Hitler, Mao’ evil POS crowd. The rule of law requires that all ‘STAND YOUR GROUND’ on this issue.
The fact that our “representatives” can’t keep 75W and 100W incandescent bulbs legal is quite problematic, especially for real issues of just who’s in charge.

I'm not tending nothin' for Bronco.
“Controversial vegetable garden”. Just goes to show there is nothing too small not to incur the regulatory wrath of a leftist busybody.
OTOH, if a home that has debris and waste material in the same area isn't being singled out, then the town has no grounds to approach this family for enforcement. The standard has already been set. So the question I would have is "what is the history of enforcement to date?"
Thanks for the link. We could use millions of Jasons growing food in Detroit. What an upgrade that would be on so many levels. No bureaucrats/socialists/totalitarians needed.
TREMENDOUSLY insightful, Paladin2. Thank you very much. HUGE BUMP!
EXACTLY!
