Air France-KLM says the company will cancel its flights to Iran as of April, leaving Germanys Lufthansa as the sole European carrier offering service to Tehran.
As part of a review of routes, the company is also halting service to Addis Ababa in Ethiopia and Khartoum, Sudan.

How the times do change. Back in 1975, I flew into Teheran on a Pan-Am B 727 from Ankara, and flew out on PA 2 (IIRC) to Beirut, which was the westbound leg of the round-the-world flight. Mehrabad Airport was a major hub for all western airlines serving that part of the world. Vendors in the departure terminal sold kilo packages of ready-to-go packs of Caspian Sea caviar. I often wonder what happened to all the bartenders after Islam set in.
