Johnson was a power hungry man who would do anything to be president. He realized that he was never going to be closer than VP as long as Kennedy was alive.

Most politicians are 'power hungry' but that does not make them conspire to kill the president.

And if LBJ was that damn obsessed about being president, -- obsessed enough to orchestrate an assassination, why did he just step down in 1968 instead of running for another term? He probably would have been re-elected if he had run.

He said his father had investigators do research into the assassination and found that phone records of Oswald...

Did Oswald even have a phone? The guy was living in flop houses and cheep little apartments and most of the time didn't even have a job.

..the JFK assassination was the most investigated crime in history...

I’m with ya. I’ve actually read the Warren Report - not the 20 volume set - but the adequate and highly detailed summary, and have often referred to it when any new claim has been advanced.

Most important, with an alledged “conspiracy” supposedly involving many different branches of government OR organized crime OR foreign governments OR Marilyn Monroe, we are expected to believe that EVERYONE has been able to keep their mouth SHUT for 50 years !

Sad to say though, I can see the day, perhaps 50 years hence, JFK’s body will be exhumed, to satisfy another poorly researched conspiracy theory...

The Warren Commission was conceived of from the very beginning as a rubber stamp and a coverup by LBJ. Read the book “The Assassination Tapes” by Holland. It’s mostly transcripts of White House tapes where LBJ is putting the commission together. It was always supposed to put a lid on any questions that might be raised. That’s not a theory - that’s what actually happened. Make of that what you will.

NetFlix has a propaganda hit piece (aka a documentary) that claims that Bush 41 did it. I refuse to watch it and give all hit piece documentaries, Micheal Moore movies and lefty life style shows a 1 star rating because there is no 0 star rating. I hope they will eventually not show up in my list.

I have read Dr. Mary’s Monkey. It is well documented and foot noted. It is about time some Freepers started reading. There is more story of Lee Harvey. The one fact that no one can change is is true. Lee Harvey did not go to jail when he can back to the United States. Also the State Dept. paid for his return ticket. Why we would we do this for a defector? You on shooter people are idiots.

I think he knew he would be defeated if he ran in 1968. He was not well liked and he could not afford the scrutiny, Heaven only know would would have been uncovered.

I doubt he would have lost. If anything, You should read this. Johnson thought there was a conspiracy too, and found out after he took office who may have been behind it.

Personally, I don't believe Castro was behind Kennedy's assassination, but he did have good reason to be. The Kennedy's, especially Saint Bobby, had been trying to kill him.

Johnson knew nothing about any of that until after he became president.

LBJ could play bare knuckle politics with the best of them, but compared to Bobby Kennedy, Johnson was a Boy Scout.

You can believe whatever kind of fantasy you choose but Johnson was a sleazeball election stealing politician and he was every bit as bad a Bobby K. There was nothing he didn't know about the assassination. If he was that ignorant he would have run for re election.

What would he have gone to jail for?

Sounds to me that you are the one choosing fantasy. Just because LBJ was a sleezebag politician (most are) does not mean he conspired to kill JFK.

Read the link I gave you. Johnson knew nothing about the Kennedys using the CIA and even signing up the Mafia to kill Castro and how dirty Bobby Kennedy's hands were in that effort.

Johnson knew his days were numbered in 1968. There was a strong family history of heart disease and he had already suffered at least one and I think more than one heart attack. Within a year or two he was essentially a cardiac cripple and within a year or two more he was dead.

He also hated RFK more than anything and when McCarthy did well in New Hampshire, I think LBJ saw the writing on the wall. I think he did the political calculations and saw RFK entering the primary (which he did) but of course, did not know that he (RFK) wouldn’t live to see the convention. If you look at politics historically you’ll see that very often when a politician decides to retire, it’s often (not always but often) due to a calculation that they’re going to be tossed out anyway.

I think LBJ’s decision was partly health related, partly based on politics, and partly based on the toll Vietnam had taken on him.

I never saw even one bit of credible evidence pointing to LBJ or anyone else besides from Oswald.

When faced with a "Who done it?" ask "Who benefits?".

I have read the Warren Report.. It’s simply a mis-mash of data and interviews cherry-picked to fit a preconceived story. What the Commission chose NOT to look Into RE: the assassination would take up more space than the voluminous 20 volume report. Witnesses who didn’t bolster the rear shooter idea were not interviewed or were declared incorrect. At least two subsequent Congressional inquireries have determined there was a conspiracy. One simple fact proves a conspiracy. The Zapruder Film. Watch the reaction of JFK’s head and body to the fatal shot and tell me it came from the rear. Quack ideas like a “geyser effect” or muscle reaction do not account for the VIOLENT, instantaneous movement of the President’s head and body toward the rear-left of the car. Brain/blood were in a fan shape on the trunk of the car starting where Kennedy’s head had been. A piece of his skull was found in the grass at the left rear of the car. The motorcycle cop af the left rear of the limo had himself and his windshield sprayed with blood and brain. All of this would be in the flight path of the bullet. It would be impossible for a shot from the rear to have caused this reaction and distribution of gore. I have personally talked with several of the doctors who saw JFK at Parkland that day (I live 40 miles from Dallas and was in the medical field for years), and they ALL say that the blown out wound at the rear of the President’s head was an EXIT wound. An exit wound there means a shot from the front, which means LHO could not have fired that shot.

He was eight or nine years old and made an appointment with the president to talk about the environment??

Reminds me of Oswald’s daughter, who remembered her father as being a “caring, loving man...”, therefore he couldn’t POSSIBLY have killed the President. She was only 2 years old when he died...

Fairy tales indeed. The Good King is killed. It HAD to be the work of the Dark Side...

And now, we hear that the SLIME who killed 20 children was somehow connected to an Israeli conspiracy.

In the words of Sigmund Freud, Sometimes a cigar, is just a cigar...
