Two deaf twin brothers in Belgium were euthanized by their doctor after realizing they were going blind and would be unable to see each other ever again, their physician says.

The 45-year-old men, whose names have not been made public, were legally put to death by lethal injection at the Brussels University Hospital in Jette, on Dec. 14.

The men, who were born deaf, had a cup of coffee and said goodbye to other family members before walking into hospital room together to die, their doctor told Belgian television station RTL.

What if they had no faith? We do, but what if all they were sure of was another 35-40 years of total dependence on others? Like I posted above, I never would have made that decision, but in a free country if a man does decide to choose that route and another man decides to help them is it really murder?

Dr. David Dufour, said it was "a relief to see the end of their sufferring".

Dear Lord.

I know about 100 deaf/blind people. They are excited about their lives and thankful to be alive.

Mad scientists with no morality are the true dangers to society. This Dr. deserves the same death he gave these 2 men.

It is vitally important to rid society of purveyors of the culture of death. I do not advocate their death. That will come soon enough. I advocate their distinction as moral degenerates.

“Only in Europe ...”

Actually, Dr. Kevorkian “euthanized” a man who had allegedly contracted the HIV virus and couldn’t stand the thought of getting sick. (At least in that case, I think it was a case of overdone Drama-Queening.)

They don’t. I knew socialists and card-carrying commies in the UK. They made fun of the disabled.

Most of Kervorkian’s victims were not terminal, not even close.

Let me get this straight just so my brain can compute this: people in Europe are Euthanized for any number of reasons, the latest being because "they can no longer see their twin," but won't be extradited to the U.S for punishment for terrorism, murder, rape, etc. because of "Dracoian American laws and inhumane punishments required under our judicial system?"

Got it, yep!!

Maybe Mullah Omar can take the hint.

Paging Colin Powell, doesn’t he want to amend his rabid remarks this weekend to include a statement that opposing euthenasia is “racist”?

5 will get you 10 they will add this (along with everything else) to the list of supposedly racial causes.

Europe? What do you think OBayMe’s Death Panels will be doing? ObamaCare, IMO, is the next Holocaust.

No, taking a life is completely relative to the situation

They can justify morally the killing of innocents. Its the killing of the guilty that gives them qualms.

“Somewhat playing devil’s advocate here, I can respect a grown man not wanting to live another 40 years being a burden on their family or society in a way also)”

That’s total lack of creativity to end life because one cannot, or rather, WILL not make the effort to find one’s purpose.

This is the lazy loser’s way out, no two ways about it.
