The NRA advertisement was a brilliant, daring and effective challenge not only to the arrogant and overreaching president, but to the timorous Republicans and the media rabble.
Brilliant and daring because the ad committed the taboo of actually mentioning that the president has children and they deserve and require armed protection. There were many among the easily terrified Republican class who squealed in dismay, although the children were neither named nor were they, wisely, pictured.
But it was impossible to make a criticism of the ad that hit the mark clearly when Obama so tendentious lay assembled four little children as his personal shield. If he could make so exploitative a use, how could he then turn any criticism toward the NRA advertisement on the same grounds?
This is the kind of gambit that should be seized by the GOP. After all, Obama gave the NRA the opportunity that the NRA wisely wielded. He warned that he was making cynical use of these children's and dared us to do anything about it. It's a mistake he will surely make again. All the GOP has to do is watch for the next opportunity and find the courage to use it.
But the ad went a long way toward puncturing the illusion of supernatural invulnerability and superiority of this odd creature that we have so foolishly reelected. Barack Obama had a peculiar demeanor today as he spoke, listless and not at all the cock o' the walk of Monday--his face looked puffy and his skin even looked bad. Maybe he had encountered the NRA ad and the sign of defiance from an opponent left him dispirited. Remember his first debate with Romney?
It was a small thing that the NRA did, but they showed that a little courage goes a long way. Both ear should dry his eyes and take a lesson.
a link to the ad would be nice, if you have it.
heard about it, but haven’t seen it.
Stop saying the NRA won! We lost.
Our president wants totake away our rights!
I wish NRA would have used moms ,kids, daughters who successfully prevented their own deaths with a gun. Like the 911 woman in GA who shot the turd in the face 5 times.
Victim impact statements are effective.
And King Obama will piece by piece until he will confiscate all our weapons.
NRA Rocks,
This is an OUTSTANDING AD A must see. OH happy day, Go get ‘em NRA.
The NRA needs MrColionNoir as their spokesman:

How about the media take notice? Until they take their message mainstream, it’s preaching to th choir. And not trying to do so is almost an admission of agreement with the left.
The lame duck president could have helped stop violence a lot better if his Justice department had already punished the insane islamic major who attaked his own brothers n arm.
Where is that case?
Where?

Any of King Obaba’s “gun violence” orders include that he will stop arming criminal gangs who use the Obaba guns to murder Mexican and US citizens, as he has been doing?
Great post.
Go NRA !
I think the ad is great. It is a full frontal assault which is exactly what the GOP needs. I was impressed to see a very strong response from the GOP today. We will always have a few GOP worms feeding on the left wing dung heap but generally the GOP didn’t flinch on the issue. I wish they were as strong on all issues.
This battle is far from won, but Obama sure disappointed his crowd today.
Or arming Al-Queda and then murdering Americans to cover it up. The worst gun criminal known today IS OBAMA!
Good vanity about the NRA ad and the effect it had on Obama. Yes the RINOCons need to spine up and counter Obama
That should be the next ad, only with the 15 year old that saved his sister!!
