Ben Affleck Quits Politics, Fears Poker, Stripper Orgy, and Rehab History Would Hurt Career

Ben Affleck has been off the radar for a while, coming out of his married-with-kidslife only for bigger films (and maybe to cheat!). We all thought he was taking time off to prepare for his political career, but he’s reportedly nixed it amidst fear of all his scandals which would be stirred up in the campaign process! The father of three has a dark past, which he isn’t eager to put back on the radar!

An insider reported his decision to National Enquirer, print edition January 21, 2013. “The real reason he’s decided not to run for US Senate” is because he fears his own dirty laundry! Though he had support to run for John Kerry’s Massachusetts senate seat—Kerry has just been appointed Secretary of State by President Obama—he is terrified to remind the world about his bad boy history!

“Ben’s worried his bad boy past and wild lifestyle will be dredged up,” the source explained. It’s not like he made one moderately bad mistake—Ben’s scandals could fill text books! His public records include “alcohol abuse that forced him into rehab, illegal underground poker games, and a highly publicized drug, booze, and sex orgy with strippers!” The smear ads just write themselves!

While his kids are young, Ben is said to be keeping on the straight and narrow, setting a good example for them while cleaning up his image. But once he’s put a few more years between him and his past, he hopes to enter public office. The source claims he will “shelve his deep passion for politics to shield his children from seeing Daddy dragged through the mud bath—until they’re older.” Would you vote for or support another Hollywood candidate, or should Ben stick to acting? Is he just using his kids as an excuse to quit while he’s ahead?

I wasn’t aware he’d ever started acting. Frankly, Ben Affleck is barely convincing as himself.

He should quit acting as well.

His movies never seem to get off the ground.

How in the Frack did he come to this conclusion?

The only thing that counts in Hollywood as a scandal these days is if an actor/actress came out as a Conservative Republican.

That is pretty weak...Damon thinks that playing stripper poker would affect a political career? He never heard of Bill Clinton? Or does he not realize how neutered the GOP has become.

I think liberals (and some NeoCons) would even forgive him for Gigli....and getting more thsn a quickie from J Ho

I guess if you have to question whether or not to share your past you're probably not much of a candidate for political office. As far as a father, your past shapes the lives of your kids even if they aren't aware of it and whether you like it or not.

Why is he worried? It hasn’t hurt any other Dem running for office.

Yeah, he’s a class act, other than the class, or ability to act.
