With the craze for guns and ammo, are there any decent sources for bulk .223/5.56 ammo?
I'm good on .30-06 and 7.62. But I need to load up on stuff for the AR.
Ideas? Direction?

Judging by the voluminous posts here at FR I’d check the bottom of the nearest lake.
Watch www.slickguns.com and www.ammoseek.com. Also, go to www.ar15.com and go to the ammunition threads. Lots of people track scads of available ammo. I snagged 800 rounds of .223 from Calelas at .52 cents per round shipped.

Nothing spectacular but I bought 140 rounds of 5.56 (Silver State Armory) from cheaper than dirt two weeks ago. None left now. Just bought some 32 APC and 38 special rounds from them a few hours ago. Every thing is super expensive!
I used to have a supply of 5.56 reloads from a friend who is in the National Guard but that has dried up!
No doubt government agents are lurking out there right now also asking for who has stokpiles of 5.56/.223 ammo as well FRiend.
Tea Party activists can for the most part ascertain who is legit in as such as forming a militia, either you just sit and wait it out or you get cracking, best things in life are dangerous.
The ammo situation is ridiculous... 38 SPECIAL is just about impossible to find, and so are 38 Special revolvers!;)

Logically, if the laws of supply/demand/economics are functioning at all now, the manufacturers are ramping up production now to sell all they can. At some point supply is going to catch up with demand.
If I made ammo, I’d be running 3 shifts right now. One does go into business to make money. Except for the libs, they just steal it from others and call it fairness.

Federal .223 and it was $359 for 500 rds.

I paid $90.00 for 100 rounds of average .22LR. I sure hope the gun industry is hiring these days and operating 24/7!

There were 9 people waiting in line at my local gun store when it opened tonight. 5 more walked through the door in the next 15 minutes while we filled out our forms. I paid $90 for two 10 round mags on Ebay last night. Today I found my local guy had them for $18 ea. LOL. I bought two more and got out of dodge. The owner says he can’t get ANYTHING shipped to him.
