By Executive Order the State of Alabama will be consolidating control of various departments to be headed up by a single DHS controller. My understanding is that the DHS head in each state is on he Fed payroll. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Governor Bentley also announced Tuesday that legislation aimed at further streamlining state-level law enforcement is currently being finalized and will be submitted to the Alabama Legislature during the 2013 Regular Session.
The legislation will call for absorbing the law enforcement functions of the Alabama Public Service Commission, the Uniformed Division of the Alabama Department of Revenue and certain functions of the Law Enforcement Unit of the Alabama Department of Transportation into the Highway Patrol Division of the Department of Public Safety.
Legislation will also call for absorbing the Investigative and Enforcement Unit of the Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries and the Enforcement Division of the Alabama Forestry Commission into the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. This will help farmers and landowners by further protecting land and resources. Upcoming legislation will also call for absorbing the Alabama Criminal Justice Information Center into the Alabama Department of Public Safety.

This has nothing to do with the Federal DHS... This is just a streamlining of State Government offices done by State officers

As a side note to DHS, imo the DHS is an unconstitutional federal encroachment on the 2A clarified power of state militias to protect their states.

Right! As the Jews were told, we are only sending you east to work, we have no intentions of killing you. These are just vicious rumors started by alarmists. Nothing to worry about.
A lot of state governments are consolidating departments to eliminate redundant positions and save money on the state level.
This appears in-state, not Fed based.
Instead of umpteen different organizations running amok in the state....they would be more efficiently run. The different groups may not like this because it stops the various fiefdoms that exist, but financially, it’ll help to cut costs in the end. Unlike California, Alabama would prefer to not to go bankrupt.
You’ve just got your facts wrong. Consolidating law enforcement arms of the state government is a good thing - we have too many INDEPENDENT armed state outfits who have no business having a police force... one administrative command and maybe some of this unneeded and potentially abusive force can be reduced.
Your post is alarmist in that you made it seem like it was the Federal Government imposing this and is it NOT the case.
The last remnants of the Old Republic have been swept away forever.
The regional governors now have direct control over their territories. Fear will keep the local systems in line.
