The Boy Scouts of America is considering ending its national ban on membership based on sexual orientation.
Under the revision being considered, the different religious and civic groups that sponsor Scout units would be able to decide for themselves how to address the matter, CBS reported Monday.
Troops would have the option of either maintaining an exclusion of gays or opening up their membership.
BSA spokesman Deron Smith said under the proposed change... "the Boy Scouts would not, under any circumstances, dictate a position to units, members, or parents."
Leaders of Troop 64 in Charleston said they would defer to BSA in deciding its policy.
"We pretty much just follow whatever the policies are of the national organization, whatever votes they have at the different councils," said Kevin Abdalla, the assistant scout mater for Troop 64.

So now the Boy Scouts want to be just like the Girl Scouts, what next? Will be advocating for abortion also? Why does every traditional family oriented and value group have to fold to the liberals and gays? They are welcome to start their own organizations with their own values and traditions.
This so like when the Women Libbers demanded access to traditional all male clubs but screamed bloody murder when a man tried to join a woman’s organization. I thought we were guaranteed freedom of association for all, but I guess the reality is that freedom is only for the special classes.
Cop out for the home office of the BSA. They don’t want the direct responsibility when the tents go up and the pedophiles line up to be troop leaders. The San Francisco BS will be 1st to go gay I’m sure.
A pity, fourth generation military and I’m strongly pushing my son not to consider serving over gays. Now I guess he will have to drop out of scouts as well.

Sure, individual units can do this and that. And boys move and transfer and don’t know what the situation is each time. I guess the onus is on them to find out, rather than trust they won’t be asked to go camping with people who find them sexually attractive.
Also, there are big events like Camp O Ree and stuff, everyone goes. You could have a flamer’s patrol at mess with you, at events with you, sharing the latrine with you. . . how appealing.
Not to mention that added allure for homosexual adults to get involved with the Scouts, now, as more willing sex partners are easier to find.

Folks, it goes MUCH deeper than just passing the buck. They are after religion and won’t stop until they have done away with every last vestige of decency based in God’s Word. They don’t want ANYONE to question their lifestyle.
Look, they have played this beautifully. They KNOW they can’t go after churches - YET, but they know they have to stop kids from learning about God in order to push their lifestyle on as many kids as possible. The head of BSA has been feeling pressure for months from GLAAD and several board members also head up large corporations, also feeling the pressure from the sodomites. The head of BSA has publicly stated that he is leaning towards doing away with the regs and this is a way to try to pacify the sodomites AND try to smooth things over with the rest of us who see this for what it is. They are going after the last refuge scouting went to when they forced them out of schools and public places. Why do you think they are “passing along” the rule writing to the chartered organizations, whose only responsibility since scouting was started was to provide a place to meet?
I am the Chartered Org. Rep for our cub scout pack & boys scout troop. Basically, I represent the church where they meet. Liability has ALWAYS been an issue with the church, to the point people are reluctant to have the church name on the scout trailer for fear someone would sue the church should they wreck it. IF the BSA national office goes through with this, the chartered organizations, 70% of which are religious, private institutions, would essentially be forced to toss the scouts because they wouldn’t want to risk getting sued. Add to that it would effectively force these religious institutions to put in writing that they are excluding gays and you can see where the lawyers will have a field day.
So, forcing the scouts from the last bastions of refuge (churches) would mean they would HAVE to go back to public places, like schools, which would mandate they include everyone, ESPECIALLY sodomites. THIS is the real goal. When the SCOTUS ruled favorably for the scouts, the sodomites pushed them out of public places, so they went to churches, the one place where the sodomites knew they would have a harder time destroying them. Without that refuge, it is open season on the one institution where NAMBLA types have a buffet to choose from. But, the real goal here is to force scouting to do away with every last reference to religion in any way, shape or form. They can’t do that if scouts meetin in churches, so forcing them from churches and back to public places gives THEM the power to write the rules. And they don’t care if scouting fails, so long as there is one less place to teach kids about God and the Bible.
And don’t think for a moment legal challenges aren’t already in the works for religious organizations who might consider writing their own guidelines. The minute this policy is changed (and I DO think it will be changed, if not this year, soon) you will see parents yanking their kids out of scouting in droves and churches will toss them out before the ink is dry on the signature. The few churches who dare try to stay the course will be hit with lawsuits galore and, since they can’t afford a crack legal team, they will abandon it altogether. At that point the libtards and sodomites will cry and wail about how the “bigots” are gone, but they really won’t care because they will have succeeded in their primary goal - removing the “religion” part of the equation.
So sad. I can envision the new merit badges that the queers, freaks, and perverts will initiate once they take over ... and it won’t be just joining, it will be to take over. I would suggest that everyone pull their children from the Scouts and find a church based organization for them...especially one that meets within a church, that has a conservative politically incorrect preacher, and one where the church members fondly recount the memories of progressives struck dead merely crossing the threshold of the church.
