LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Federal prosecutors said a 27-year-old Glendale man hacked into hundreds of social media and email accounts to coerce women online to get naked.
Karen “Gary” Kazaryan, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to 15 counts of computer intrusion and 15 counts of aggravated identity theft, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Tracy L. Wilkison.
The suspect, who remains jailed on a $75,000 bond, could be sent to federal prison for 105 years if he’s convicted of the charges.
Kazaryan allegedly hacked into young, unsuspecting women’s computers, changed their passwords and took control of their online accounts.
“Once he was inside the accounts, he would search for naked pictures… password information…friend information. Once he had that information, he would pose as these individuals and contact their friends on Facebook, Instant Messenger and Skype and pretend to be them,” said Wilkison.
According to a federal indictment, Kazaryan would then try to persuade the women’s friends to expose themselves to him via Skype.
“If he couldn’t convince them to remove their clothing, he would then extort them. He would find their naked pictures, use naked pictures obtained on Skype, and tell them he would post those naked pictures on Skype…on Facebook,” said Wilkison.
Kazaryan supposedly targeted more than 350 women.
A search of the suspect’s laptop yielded more than 3,000 nude images. Some of the photos were of girls as young as 16.
“We probably have not identified all of them,” said Wilkison. “It was a horrifying, humiliating, terrible experience for these women. It’s a case we have taken extremely seriously.”
CBS2’s Kristine Lazar said the suspect was previously arrested for rape and drug possession, but the cases never made it to trial.

Sad what this says about the general morals of most women today that there are nude photos of themselves stored on line in various accounts.

What i find funny is that he would contact his female victims’friends and persuade THEM to get naked on cam or pictures. If my firend skyped me asking for that, i’d be a little weirded out.
I never cease to be amazed at the vanity of women and their insatiable desire to take pictures of themselves. Ala stupid duck face, etc...
A good psychological case study would be the types of photos in men’s Facebook accounts vs. women’s.

And then stips down.
Why am I not surprised that this actually worked?
Also it seems like a lot of work to just get nudie pictures from dumb girls. What, there wasn't already enough porn on the internet for this creep? Jeeze, he must not know where to look!
These women should have stuck to Polaroids.
A lot of rapists and murderers got a lot less than 105 years in prison.

Aren’t there places on the internet you can go and pay to have women take off their clothes? Seems like a less risky approach.

Ya I wondered about that too, the internet is awash with self taken photos of naked women. Why go through all this trouble just to get a few more? Probably more of a game to him to see how many stupid women there were that would do as he requested. Turns out it appears there were quite a lot.
THEY put their naked pictures on the web and now THEY are humiliated! Shheeeez.
It’s a control thing spiced with control of intimacy.
Years ago, I sent my husband (who was deployed) a topless pic of me.
Well, he was sitting in the TOC, chatting with the commander, waiting for the photo to load (back in those days it could take more than a minute for a picture to load) and all of a sudden the commander looks at my husband’s monitor with WIDE eyes.
Hubby turned his head and, yup. There I was, topless as the day I was made. Trying to raise the morale of my poor soldier.
My husband told me that, as he was desperately trying to close out the photo, his commander would NOT take his eyes off the screen until he shoved him.
Needless to say, that was the LAST time my husband ever got anything slightly riskee from me while he was deployed.
I understand why girls do it, but wisdom needs to prevail over good intentions.
(FYI, they routinely open soldier’s mail and show off panties and photos to the company while they’re standing in formation. You’re not supposed to send those things to certain countries. Period.)
A gf of mine had a female medical coworker whose husband was serving, and his squad in full gear dropped their drawers in the desert and sent a group photo back to cheer the ladies. It seemed to put a smile on her face, even as she protested all men were uncivilized baboons...mission accomplished.

I sent home a photo once to my wife of me taking a field bath. She was having a Mary Kay party when the photo reached home. She opened it up with all the ladies present. She sold enough cosmetics that day to get one of those pink Cadillacs.
He must've done this to some politician/law officer's wife/relative.
