I think it is a “shark attack” reporting trend, where the media fixates on a story type and reports anything that is related. It makes it seem like there is an increase in the incidents or that they are all related when it just the attention paid by the media to something they would normally ignore or not cover so extensively.

I can see why in an economy like this where you are worried about losing your job every single day with capitalism hating president in charge. Add to that worrying about having your constitutional rights stripped, handing over your handguns, not being able to protest without being cooked by microwave guns, the price of everything going through the roof because of no-collateral backed slips of paper that resemble dollar bills, your savings declining, your taxes going up, being forced to buy Obamacare, worrying about gays molesting your kids in the BSA, etc, etc, etc... There is no coincidence here, all of the mass shooters have been on prescription psychotropic drugs.

Without these drugs, there would be no massacres, going ‘postal,’ or other manifestations.

#1 - We live in a very large country, so there are usually going to be multiple incidents of any type of crime on any particular day.

#2 - Sometimes, when a crime gets a lot of media attention, it produces copycats.

#3 - It now fits the leftist media agenda to report as many of these events as they possibly can.
