Got three Wal-Marts around me.

Only one had any shotgun ammo and would sell only a box of each.

Now there are none.

Under Nancy’s law, these will be illegal.

Obama has been president for 4 years. We knew that he was going to cheat to win in 2012. We knew that he would go after the guns once he was re-elected. Everyone should have had a large cache of ammo by October!

The last Ammo run/shortage time there was plenty of 22LR and 12 ga.

This time I find it interesting that a successful run on both has been made.

I'd guess that the 12 ga. is the Swiss Army Knife of popular firearms with more types of rounds produced than for any other platform. 22LR second in the # of available round designs.

Fortunately "my friends" picked up a decade supply of both ~4 years go.

These are troubled times.

I was in Academy the other day and they had acres of shotgun ammo.

I did some grocery shopping this morning at a super Wal-Mart. They had plenty of guns tho no AR type. Their ammunition space was nearly totally empty. I didn’t take the time to see what was left but it wasn’t much.

Unfortunately so many of us have suffered through a great deal of ObamaNomics and are unable to stock up on much of anything. Haven’t bought the Ruger Range Rifle I wanted and have only been able to go to the range once a month instead of twice a week.

I get all mine mail order these days. I instantly know what’s available and what’s not without leaving the house. Get it dropped and pick it up 2 or 3 times a year.

Heck, I knew after the 2006 elections that the Dims would probably get the White House... Stocked up then. Surprised that it took so long for them to mount this push.

Serious Questions...

1) What is preventing gun and ammunition manufacturers from ramping up production to meet the increased demand?

2) What is preventing new manufacturers from entering the market to meet the growing demand?

These shortages have been going on for some time now.

My guess is they don’t want to build additional facilities only to have them empty once the surge is over.

Also there might be a shortage of raw materials such as brass, copper lead etc.

My two local stores say they can’t get ANYTHING sent to them. It is not just the run causing the shortage. Someone is choking off the supply and pressuring warehouses etc not to ship.

Ordinarily you would expect gun sellers to ramp up production to make as much money as possible, not let the supply run low. There is really only one good reason to throttle the suppliers and it’s not a good one.

I bought slugs and shot shells for the shotgun that is too heavy for me, before ammo disappeared and at the same time got hollow point cartridges for the too heavy rifle. Also got lots of 38 hollow points for handguns. All that before the rush.

Then, I bought a 22 rifle close to a month ago and it still isn't here. Bought 3 boxes of Remington hollow points for it around the same time and that ammo isn't here, either. The 22 rifle was in stock but there was a notice they were shipping so much as orders came in, the shipping would be delayed. I think the rifle will eventually get here and the ammo is from Cabela’s so I think it will come some time.

The United States has a virus and is throwing up daily. The source of the virus sits in the White House.

If you’ve been going to the range once a month, the Obamnomics didn’t hit you too hard. I cut down to 4 times a year and even then I shoot mostly 22 and just enough centerfire to stay familiar. The rest of my practice ammo has gone into the storage cabinet. I do a lot of dry-fire practice and trigger drills with a laser these days.
