"And we've become a party of scolds," he added. "The party of 'No, you can't have an abortion. No, if you're gay, you can't be married. No, if you're an immigrant, you can't possibly think you are going to get on line to become a citizen of the United States.'"

"We've got to go back to the party of inclusion," Rivera said during the Shepard Smith interview. "The big-tent Republican Party where we say to the Democrats, 'Listen, we're not forfeiting the black vote to you just automatically, or the Latino vote, or the Asian vote.' Those are people who are among our strivers, who are energetic, vibrant. They want the best for themselves and their families."
"I want to reach out to all the people of the very diverse state of New Jersey," he said, "and say the Republican party is more than the cliche that you've been understanding and hearing lately."
Rivera also slammed what he called the "nativist" wing of the party for abandoning former President George W. Bush on immigration reform.
"They made the brown skin people and other immigrants the enemy, talking about machine guns on the border and self-deportation and concepts like that" Rivera said. Why would a Latino person want to vote for a Republican under those circumstances?"

Same Sex Marriage ain’t about equality. It’s about tearing down the institution of marriage, the patriarchy, religious traditions... The Leftists who started down this road in the 1960s were quite clear and specific about their goals with it.
I think he forgot “No, you can’t own a gun”, “No, you can’t drink that large soda”, “No, you can’t have Twinkies in your school lunches”, “No, you can’t smoke”, “No, you can’t buy your own health insurance”, “No, you didn’t build that!”..
The Line is pretty doggone long already....US admits one million plus immigrants every year granting them “green cards” aka permanent residence visa. Then after 5 years the green card holders become eligible to apply for citizenship.
Those 11 million illegals can go back at the end of that line which is probably 6 to 7 years long waiting period already.
When did he become a Republican? He always seemed to be a far-left lib to me and I’m sure I heard him say he was a Libertarian not too many years ago. He’s no more a Republican than Bernie Sanders!
Aside from many other things this twit has done he gave away the troops position on live TV and never was held accountable for it in my opinion.

A BIG part of ‘pulling yourself up by your bootstraps’ is being told NO , You can’t have a FREE RIDE(Immigration along with the welfare perks that certainly will follow) and then dealing with it.

An acquaintance of mine went to school with Jerry Rivers here, and told me that he didn’t become “Geraldo” until after he graduated, when he discovered that he could game the system better with a Spanish sounding name.

Rivera should just come out of the closet and admit he’s a demo along with Powell. When he says Republicans think immigrants shouldn’t be allowed to become citizens he was speaking democrat because he conveniently failed to mention the word ILLEGAL.
