The buzziest new model at New York Fashion Week is a four-year-old covered in fur. Designer Tracy Reese sent a live cat, named Lily, down the runway on Sunday at New York Fashion Week. It was a first for fashion and for the feline community. As you'd imagine, it took a lot of planning and not a little backstage drama to break that cat-based glass ceiling. Here's a look at how it all went down.

What is it with cats and shoes? One of my kitties was bonkers about my shoes, especially freshly-worn ones. She’d try to get into them head-first as far as she could and roll around ecstatically, or lie Sphinx-like for hours with both legs thrust into a shoe. When she was smaller she could fit herself entirely into a shoe and nap...I learned to be very careful to check for a sleeping kitty before grabbing a pair in the morning!

Cat on a leash? The only way I can see that happening is that somebody’s holding the cat’s family hostage and threatening to put them in a burlap bag and throw them into the river.....

I think because they smell like you.
My kitty loves my sneakers, and flats, ignores my pumps. I hardly wear those so I guess they don’t have my scent.
