Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood today warned of the "enormous impact" the looming sequester budget cuts will have on air travel in America, given that his department will have to cut nearly $1 billion from its budget, with more than $600 million coming from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
As the one former Republican congressman in President Obama's cabinet, LaHood put the responsibility squarely on Republicans to step up and work with Democrats to find a way to avert the cuts, slated to kick in on March 1.

I have loved flying since I was a little boy [gee, those biplanes were fun], but I haven't stepped on a plane in well over a decade. My brother has invited me on a trip to London all expenses paid. I'll probably break my anti-flying vow, but I really wish he'd consider the "Queen Mary".
Heck, I'd probably take the Carnival "Triumph" if it meant skipping security.
He’s losing a billion dollars out of a seventy-billion dollar budget - one day off every three months for each employee - yet my daughter, who works for the FAA, has been subjected to scare stories for weeks about how people will be fired or at the best be forced to take a day off every week for the next half-year - these terror tactics are a disgrace.......
LaHood is the buffoon who ran the Clinton impeachment trial. After his fiasco then, he should have never been put in charge of anything else. He was and is the quintessential RINO - that’s why Obama picked him.
