Is there no safe stash for drugs these days?
The tan Hyundai was reportedly pulled over for not having working brake lights.
When the deputy then asked the driver, Alexis Ann Clancey, 20, along her three passengers, if there were any weapons, drugs or contraband inside the car or on their person, they all said 'no' and gave consent to search, according to a news release from the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office.

Uh, not sure if I really want to know the details of the body cavity search. LOL! Double up on the gloves Jimmy!
Morons. Never consent to a search. Never, ever.
NEVER, EVER give verbal CONSENT to anything an officer asks of you. You say, "I don't willingly give consent nor dod I forgo my legal rights."
If they want to search the damned car, your person, etc., let them get a warrant or declare they are doing it because of a valid reason (e.g., I fear for my life, etc.). Even then, do not cede your legal rights.

Had to read that headline several times before concluding the leg wasn’t hidden in the same location as the needle.

I’ve often wondered about this. If a cop asks if you have any weapons, and you are a CCW holder, do you tell him yes, and does that then give him ‘probable cause’ to search your vehicle, or do you just say no?
Why people consent to search I will never know. Don’t answer any questions or consent to search. Unless th cop is going to shoot you. Then re group and hire a good lawyer.
If you are detained by Police in Oklahoma you must let them know you have a license as quickly as is reasonable. But no quick moves or loud noises because no matter what happens cops can gun anybody down and it will be a “good shoot”. They can claim your cell phone looked scary of you gave them a “furtive glance”. Always be careful when armed around cops even as a licensed carrier.
I have too. I wondered about my CCW and some spots I’ve seen on COPS etc where officers in other states got pissed about people they stopped having weapons, one who threatened to kill the driver who from the gitgo tried to tell him but the big Rambo wouldn’t let him speak.
Regardless, I got my question answered here in Georgia anyway. My wife and daughter recently took a basic handgun course taught by a former LEO. He advised them if asked the question about weapons to say “nothing that you should be concerned about.” He even advised NOT to offer that you have a weapon in the car IF you have a CCW license.
I guess the point is that these people need a REASON to stop you, need a reason to ask for anything beyond your license (here in Georgia, registrations and proof of insurance are not required because they can check that on their computers if they have your license).
Why would you have 5 hypodermic syringes in the car and hide the 6th one in your butt?
Maybe she liked it there.
I hope they washed it before they used it.
Talk about kinky. The girls in the clink are going to love her.
Pulled over for brake lights being out results in cavity searches of presumably all aboard.
Why is that considered reasonable?
How does a vehicle malfunction/unsafe condition justify sticking one's fingers into these girls?
Very disturbing that this is blithely condoned.
"They found something this time" you may protest.
And what if they found nothing?
Would it change your answer?
What if your daughter were riding in the car of a friend who had brake lights out?
Would 'probing' her on the side of the road be okay?
The Constitution was constructed for a reason.
We are letting 'them' dismantle it piece by piece on a daily basis.
There is a neighboring community that is far too heavily policed. I’m reluctant to go there. If I should have a flat tire, I know my car will be surrounded by five cop cars. None of the officers will be willing to lift so much as a lug nut unless they think they can pin it on me as being stolen. The only reason they stop is to try to either coerce consent or get some other reason to go through the contents of my car.
Trouble is the 4th. Amendment doesn’t actually exclude your car. Some court may say it does another might not. It’s a kind of gray area. The State grants you the ‘’privilege’’ of a drivers license(it’s not a ‘’right’’) so the State feels it can search your car without having to issue a warrant.
