Fans keep love alive for 'Walking Dead' star..."If Daryl dies we riot!"

.... unpredictability keeps viewers on the edge of their seats and the shows' stars in a constant state of alertness.

"You see series and they last a long time and sometimes the writing gets lazy or the acting gets lazy. Because we're in a zombie apocalypse and anyone can go at any time, it sort of keeps us fresh and on our toes," Norman Reedus told The Associated Press Friday.

Fans lined up around the block to watch a panel discussion with Reedus and his co-stars at Paleyfest, the annual Southern California TV celebration. Many in the crowd showed their support for Reedus' crossbow-wielding character, Daryl Dixon, with their "If Daryl dies we riot!" T-shirts.

The 44-year-old actor says his vocal fan base is responsible for his character's impressive longevity in a series that seems to have no qualms in axing its most popular characters.

"Hell yes. Oh my god, yes," he said. "(They're) keeping me on the show."

"The Walking Dead" focuses on a rag-tag band of surviving refugees, including unruly brothers Daryl and Merle Dixon, who were not part of the series' comic book origins.

Duane. But “Duane turned” was on the wall too.

"It couldn’t be much longer than it would take for a dead body to decompose, right?"

Well there is some discussion that if the digestive tract stays in tact then Zombies live longer because they eat which allows the body to renew itself but at a much slower pace than normal.

Remember we found out in the first season that the brain reanimates but only in the lower functions. Apparently their lungs work (at least the diaphragm muscle anyways) because they can make vocalizations (grunting and such) it takes air being forced from the lungs to do that.

"The Gov has lost it, I think he;s on his way out soon and the blond woman takes over. Forget her name now."

I am currently reading the Rise of the Governor/Walking Dead Trilogy (They are novels not Comic Books).

Trust me, the Gov. lost it a long time before he got to Woodbury. Hell he even lies about who he is.

Those can be tough to track down. I spent weeks looking for the song they played on Deadliest Catch when Phil Harris died.

Hell he even lies about who he is.

I remember Andrea asking the gov his name but he wouldn't give it.......I'm curious as to who he is and what he may have done before the apocalypse...

Here's a small problem I have, after the governor and his pals ambushed that group of military personnel and brought their vehicles into their compound, I'm surprised that there was no investigative follow-up to their being missing from wherever they came from.

And since they were fully armed and in military uniform, I have to believe there is still a military compound somewhere within maybe a hundred miles.......

I wonder if they will figure in to any future episodes...........

If you recall, a helicopter from that base crashed in that episode or the one before and a survivor said that the base had effectively fallen.

That’s how the governor knew to expect the small convoy. Its been months but I think the helicopter was scouting a path for the guys traveling by road.

As cripplecreek said, the small military unit was basically a group of refugees from Fort Benning, GA, which had been overrun by walkers.

I’m hoping Rick got some ideas on how to shore up defenses at the prison after their little visit with Morgan.

It was nice to hear Rick actually make a funny with Michonne when he said she should drive because he sees things.

I think having Rick lighten up a bit will change the whole dynamic for the better.

That was a good scene and I think it indicates that Rick and Carl have finally accepted Michonne to their group.....

"I wonder if they will figure in to any future episodes..........."

Well they explain in that very episode the Soldiers in the helicopter were scouting for the convoy that the Gov. goes back and ambushes. The soldier they rescue from the helicopter said their army base got over run by walkers and their convoy was all that survived.
