The “Storage Wars” lawsuit heatedly continues this week, as Yahoo! TV News reported this Tuesday, March 12, that “Storage Wars” and the A&E Network has won the first round in a legal battle against Dave Hester, who argued in his lawsuit that the popular reality show is actually staged.
In yesterday’s ruling, Judge Michael Johnson took sides with A&E’s “Storage Wars” on several key points, first dismissing Dave Hester’s argument that the Unfair Business Practices was violated by the network.
Johnson similarly agreed with the show in the “Storage Wars” lawsuit for the ruling that any injunction against the TV series would in turn violate the First Amendment rights of A&E.

From what I understand:
DH signed a contract to be an actor on a staged show and pretend to all it isn’t staged. Like an aide on a magic show.
He then exposed the magician’s secrets AND sued the magician for fooling the audience!
Do I have this right?
His case is pretty weak seeing that he appeared in 61 episodes before claiming the show was staged. And he only brought allegations after he got tossed off the show.
Most reality shows and not real. This one is no different.
Pro wrestling will be his next victim.

If you like Reaity shows (xxx wars, et al) the one thing you should NEVER do is Google “xxx show) FAKE”.
The only reality shows that were real were COPS and the original “Candid Camera.”
And even with COPS I always asked “why do the cops on the scene defer to the latecomer cop with the camera?”

The only “reality” shows I watch are House Hunters and House Hunters International. Buyers are shown 3 homes from which they pick one to purchase. The real fun is watching Americans expecting all the amenities of home in a foreign land and finding out they can’t get them.
And even then, before the show is filmed, a contract is already signed and in hand on their house of choice, from what I understand. It’s a prerequisite for being on the show.

I agree, I hate to admit it but I watch the show regularly, mostly because I think Barry Weiss is a hoot. But hester was always an AHOLE to everyone. Having said that, when I watch most reality tv I expect that a certain amount of it and probably most of it is scripted.........So I don’t think it’s big deal.
Speaking of fake Iactually heard on tv that Duck Dynasty was “unscripted”. Those guys always sound like they are reading a TelePropter. I know a lot of those kind of folks and if it were really unscripted they would have to bleep every other word.
The DD guys are all preachers or Elders in the Church of Christ.

What fool would fight other people 24hrs. a day?
Certainly in a repo you hit some strange people ,but no one could live throught that at every repo.
Yeah, I heard DD was the highest rated “unscripted” reality show right now. I guess it depends on what the definition of unscripted is. As for language, I don’t think the DD guys use a lot of bad language, if I’m not mistaken they are Christians.
I used to like that, until I realized that about every third or fourth couple featured were queers.
