Radioactive Wild Boars Found in Italy (Chernobyl)
Digital Journal ^ | Mar 11, 2013 | Katerina Nicholas

Samples taken from 27 wild boars captured in northern Italy during the hunting season revealed the animals to be radioactive. Traces of the radioactive isotope cesium-137 exceeded the legal limit by 10 times.

The Italian Health Ministry carried out routine tests on wild boars in the Piedmont mountain area and discovered radioactive contamination in 27 boars. According to Sina the Enea Radiation Protection Institute stated "the cesium-137 is an artificial radionuclide produced by nuclear fission, and is released from nuclear sites." To Vima reported Italian Health Minister Renato Balntoutsi said teams of experts will try to solve the "mystery of cesium" by testing samples of water and soil in the area. Rabbits, hares and deer will also be tested for the presence of cesium.

Experts from the regional institution for environmental monitoring ARPA consider the most likely cause of the radioactive contamination is from Chernobyl.

In preparation, Obama should set up the ABRB (American Bureau of Radioactive Boars), and we should fund them with millions of dollars.

Oddly, Chernobyl is home to varieties of wild critters, not just these boars. And the vegetation is doing just fine.

Apparently, the radiation isn’t killing them.

What do we make of all this?

Piedomnt is about 1,500 miles from Chernobyl, so that's probably not it.

25 years later? The thing you have to remember about radioactive substances is that the gas tank is finite. The stuff that stays active a long time isn’t very radioactive to begin with. The stuff that’s fiercely radioactive doesn’t stay that way very long.

All of Europe did get a good radioactive dusting from the Chernobyl event but they were too busy protesting America at the time to notice. It’s possible.
