Yoko Ono tweeted a photo of John Lennon’s bloody glasses this week.

Why? Well, she was celebrating her 44th wedding anniversary to the late Beatles singer.

Ono sat down to reflect about Lennon’s life and death this week and she came to the conclusion that there have been far too many gun deaths in the world in the 33 years since Lennon was assassinated.

Ono wrote on Twitter: “Over 1,057,000 people have been killed by guns in the USA since John Lennon was shot and killed on 8 Dec 1980.”

The singer / artist sent out several more messages about gun violence and how it feels to lose a loved one. Ono says that, even though Lennon was killed more than three decades ago, she still feels the pain of his absence.

Ono wrote: “The death of a loved one is a hollowing experience. After 33 years our son Sean and I still miss him. Yoko Ono Lennon.”

Along with her messages, Ono posted a sound clip of Lennon talking about a peace. (You can listen to it below.) But the most talked about item from Yoko’s anniversary tweets was a photo of John Lennon’s bloody glasses.

What do Ethiopians and Yoko Ono have in common?

They both live off of dead beetles.

John Lennon was anti-war but never said a bad thing about the troops.

Some 60’s “hippies” were total arsewipes to the troops when they came home, but they were not John Lennon- more like John Kerry.

I will agree with the “useful Idiot” part...

But The Beatles music was all about Peace and Love- and there is not too much wrong with that.

Contrast this with ‘rap’ stars whose only ‘talent’ is screaming about “fuggin’ they bitches”
