The Southern Poverty Law Center claims that lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender students have been harassed by students and faculty members within the Moss Point School District.
The allegations came out Thursday at a press conference at Magnolia Junior High School. The SPLC also revealed information from an investigation of harassment of students in the Moss Point School District.
The group sent a letter to the district demanding immediate action in ending anti-gay bullying, according to a press release. If they do not take action, the SPLC said they will file a federal lawsuit.
The investigation comes as a result of complaints from former student Destin Holmes. Holmes identifies as a lesbian and claims she was often referred to as "he" and "it" by faculty, and was denied access to the girls' restroom.
Holmes left the school district in March 2012 and is now homeschooled.

Is this Destin male or female? (Tough to tell from the picture - - looks like ‘The Beave’ to me). Depends on what it is. If it’s a born female who merely claims to be a sexual pervert, then she should be allowed in the girls room, monitored by a faculty member if the normal girls insist.
If Destin’s claim is true, the school district will lose in court.
Government officials cannot force a student to retain human waste.
Exactly. There are a ton of "Democrats" in Moss Point. I guess with the militant homosexual movement, SOME Democrats are more equal than others, because in this case, we wonder who was doing the "bullying"? Surely not blacks! /s Hmmmm...
Mississippi ping
True. But sometimes points must be made. And when it costs taxpayers for the suit, they can either pay it and silently stew or man up and elect people that refuse to cater to the homosexuals.
PS, schools have been making kids retain human waste every day since 1 room schoolhouses on the prairie.
Yeah, I especially like the way they stand up for the 2nd Amendment.
Confucius say, If you act like a freak in high school... well kids can be cruel.
Yeah, buddy!
See: Glaspy v. Malicoat
Yes, it deals with government officials denying a person the right to use a public restroom.
The school district is going to lose.
That must be it! But, probably by a surrogate, IVF thingie.
Sixteen isn’t old enough to really know about sexuality yet, unless she is being pushed into it by someone. That wouldn’t surprise me a bit. Groups like this are always on the lookout for issues to exploit.
I’m not siding with anyone, but simply making an assessment of how a court would likely rule in this matter.
And that assessment is based on the assumption that the plaintiff was denied use of the girls’ restroom.
I agreed they would. That’s not my point.
first this mother should be pulling this kid aside and make him understand that like sex wiht feces, having turds dripping on th eend is not healthy
Now as for the bigoted SPLC, who got away from getting nuts worked up to shoot people.
Why is this place still going, why are they still allowed to operate?
It;s a hate group pure nad simple and if people don;t want or think homosexuals are normal then so be it.
what ever the courts say I;m sure you can agree as a conservative that this woman failed as a nother and for her to be out there not telling her child what is right and healthy is sickening.
SPLC, is a hate group ans seeing as you like courts and the law then are they being charged for inciting nuts to kill?
the mother is a nut and to think this is MS.
Another reason why the nuts up in the north east and parts of the west coast should join Canada and make these perverts and failed mnothers move up there
Yes, I agree that someone needs to have the ‘nads to bring the SPLC up on RICO charges.
Yes, someone has to have the beibers to stune their nads.
