It was such a daunting task that it was only finally done about 10 years ago by some scientists with incredible patience. But that was such a huge breakthrough in research that now there are gut flora surveys going on around the world, and they are learning all sorts of things.

While still relatively in its infancy, it is pretty obvious that this is going to be a huge area of research and discovery.

I buy salad packages on most visits to the grocery. I have noticed than one cannot depend on the ‘use by’ date. Several times I have had packages turn to liquidy goo several days before the ‘use by’ date.

Don’t be sanguine about H5N1 bird flu. It is about the closest thing ever discovered to a perfect virus for eradicating humans, except for one thing. For some unknown reason, it has never made the 5-mutation jump so that it would be easily spread from person to person, except in a lab.

Translated, this means that it reproduces in the *lower* respiratory tract (and very unusually for influenza, in some of the internal organs), instead of the *upper* respiratory tract, where it could be easily spread by coughing and sneezing. That is it.

Were it to achieve that breakthrough, the original estimates, created by epidemiologists, but suppressed by the bureaucrats at the WHO, was of 1 billion+ fatalities.

That is, it is the virus equivalent of a medium sized nuclear world war.

Like I said, it is a near perfect virus for killing people.

And it could achieve that mutation at any time, or not.

My wife and son regularly catch tadpoles at the pond and bring them home to grow in a large bin we keep in the yard. They would get excited to see them mature and eventually hop away. Last year a couple of jays figured out that our frog bin was an easy buffet. Oh, the drama!

One little *trick* I’ve developed is that one of my markets still has a self-serve salad bar. The $4.99lb. is a bit off-putting, but I get iceberg or green leaf by the head or romaine when it is on sale...and get a small scoop of Spring greens to add to the salad I make. It’s more interesting looking and I can go back for another small amount every few days. The most I’ve paid for this is 39 cents...lots cheaper than buying a $4.00 bag that won’t last a week. :)

Can’t wait to put the seeds in for own own greens...won’t be long now! HEEHAH!

Breathing is bad for your health as well. It puts wear and tear on the lungs which is why Mike Bloomberg is considering it should be banned.

Heh...If the lettuce is from Mexico...he’s a little illegal alien!

There are probably 706 FCC laws being broken with that blunder.

A hamburger is a beefburger. The ham does not refer to ham but to Hamburg, Germany.

Good grief, what the heck kind of frog is it, lol? It’s got a very high frequecy chirp to drag the FCC into the matter.

You do mean the FDA, right?

And that’s why I said there is no city called Beefburg. Nor is there a city called Cheeseburg.
